The source said that the official name of Russia's fifth-generation super multirole fighter T-50 will be called Su-57. The official name was supposed to be announced during President Vladimir Putin's visit to the MAKS-2017 international air show. However, the President's plans changed and he did not visit the exhibition. Therefore, the decision to announce the new name has been postponed until now.

Sukhoi company experts, who have researched and created the super 5th generation fighter T-50, have announced that flight tests for them have been successful and they are completing the final stages of preparation for the launch of this super product and moving towards mass production.

According to a source from the Russian Defense Ministry, the armed forces need at least 200 Su-57s. However, they will be divided into different production stages and in accordance with the country's situation.

This phase may only be produced in limited quantities. President of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Yuri Slyusar said that because the engine model for the 5th generation fighter has not been completed, the first batch of Su-57 fighters delivered to the Russian Air Force will only be manufactured in a quantity of 12 aircraft. After completing the engine specifically for them, they will be mass produced and widely equipped for the forces.

The fifth-generation fighter Su-57 (PAK FA T-50) is a real breakthrough in the research and development of Russian military equipment. It is the result of the combination of the most advanced technologies and Russian engineers.

Russia's Su-57 is superior to the US's 5th generation F-22 and F-35 fighters in a number of areas, especially in terms of modern weapons systems and electronic warfare systems, and is considered by military experts to be the newest and most powerful aircraft of the 21st century.

The source also added that Russian researchers have begun work on the development of a 6th generation fighter.
