Paris will have public nudity areas.

The Green Party has submitted a proposal to the government to "reserve" certain public spaces in the capital Paris for nudity activities for residents and tourists.

This project was presented by representatives of the Green Party in Paris at a city council meeting on September 19th.

One of the locations suggested by the public is the Daumesnil lake area, Bois de Vincennes, located in the east of the city. This lake is also included in the government's 2019 project to repurpose it into a public swimming area.

Previously, nudists in the city often complained about overcrowding at nude swimming spots. For example, the Roger Le-Gall pool in the 12th arrondissement, which allows nudity on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings, is currently overcrowded. "There are up to 150 people swimming nude on Wednesday night," Denis Porquet, a member of the Paris Nudist Association, told 20 Minutes.

The country's laws stipulate that those who are naked in prohibited areas face a fine of 15,000 euros or one year in prison.

Along with Germany, France is a country where people are very enthusiastic about the trend of immersing themselves in nature by nudity. Many places in Europe have public areas for nudists, such as beaches, parks, and swimming pools. These places attract large numbers of locals and tourists.
