The Peugeot 3008 was awarded the title of 'European Car of the Year 2017'.
The results of the "European Car of the Year 2017" poll have been officially announced ahead of the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, with the Peugeot 3008 emerging victorious. This also marks the first time this title has gone to an SUV – a result that accurately reflects the shift in focus of the market and automakers.

After a test drive and experience session, 58 automotive journalists from 22 European countries voted for the 7 best cars of 2017. Accordingly, the Peugeot 3008 scored 319 points, overwhelmingly outperforming its competitors such as the Alfa Romeo Giulia (296), Mercedes-Benz E-Class (197), Volvo S90/V90 (172), Citroen C3 (166), Toyota C-HR (165), and Nissan Micra (135). The Peugeot 3008 is the fifth model from the French automaker to win this award and its first SUV. Peugeot CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato stated that this title is a well-deserved reward for the efforts of the entire team.
The 2017 Peugeot 3008, officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last September, boasts a host of new features and amenities inside, including ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen, electronic parking brake, MirrorLink infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, DAB radio, and Bluetooth. In the past five months, Peugeot has received 125,000 orders for the 3008, demonstrating its popularity among customers.
The "European Car of the Year" award has been held annually since 1964. Last year, the title went to the Opel Astra.
PSA is also the new owner of the Opel brand after reaching an agreement to acquire it from General Motors (GM) for €2.2 billion, equivalent to $2.3 billion.
