Peugeot 3008 wins 'European Car of the Year 2017' title
The results of the "European Car of the Year 2017" vote have been officially announced ahead of the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, with the victory belonging to the Peugeot 3008. This is also the first time this title has belonged to an SUV - a result that reflects the shift in focus of the market as well as car manufacturers.

After the experience and test drive, 58 automotive journalists from 22 European countries voted for the 7 best car models of 2017. Accordingly, Peugeot 3008 scored 319 points, overwhelming other competitors such as Alfa Romeo Giulia (296), Mercedes-Benz E-Class (197), Volvo S90/V90 (172), Citroen C3 (166), Toyota C-HR (165) and Nissan Micra (135). According to the newspaperTelegraph, Peugeot 3008 scores points thanks to its stylish design, spaciousness and beautiful interior.

The Peugeot 3008 is the French automaker's fifth model to win the award and its first SUV. Peugeot CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato said the title was a worthy reward for the efforts of the entire team.
The 2017 Peugeot 3008 was officially introduced at the Paris Motor Show last September, with a host of new features and amenities inside, including ambient lighting, a 12.3-inch digital clock, plus an 8-inch touchscreen, electronic parking brake, MirrorLink infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, DAB radio, and Bluetooth. In the past 5 months, Peugeot has received 125,000 orders for the 3008, showing customer demand.
The European Car of the Year award has been held annually since 1964. Last year, the title went to the Opel Astra.
PSA is also the new owner of the Opel brand after reaching an agreement to acquire the brand from General Motors (GM) for 2.2 billion EUR, equivalent to 2.3 billion USD.
