(Baonghean.vn) - The Thanh Chuong District Police have successfully cracked a case, arresting two suspects for transporting and trading prohibited goods.

Previously, through investigative work, the Thanh Chuong District Police discovered a group of individuals involved in the illegal trade of prohibited goods operating with extremely sophisticated methods and tactics. To evade law enforcement, the suspects manufactured and printed counterfeit documents claiming to be from the Ministry of National Defense. They then used these counterfeit documents to replace the packaging of firecrackers, making them appear as if they were produced by the Ministry of National Defense, before selling them to customers for illicit profit.

In response to the situation, the Thanh Chuong District Police established a special task force to combat the crime. After gathering sufficient evidence, at approximately 10:00 AM on March 22nd, in Phuong Son hamlet, Dong Van commune, Thanh Chuong district, the task force successfully apprehended Pham Cong Su (born in 1969), residing in Tien Quanh hamlet, Dong Van commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province, for the act of "transporting prohibited goods," seizing 31 kg of explosive fireworks.

Immediately afterwards, the Thanh Chuong District Police Investigation Agency executed an emergency detention order against Phung Nguyen Thanh Vi. Simultaneously, they executed an emergency search warrant for Vi's residence and workplace. During the emergency search of Phung Nguyen Thanh Vi's residence, the Thanh Chuong District Police Investigation Agency seized over 31 kg of explosive fireworks.

Furthermore, at his residence, the Thanh Chuong District Police Investigation Agency also seized several tools used to manufacture fireworks – tools that Vi used to replace the casings of explosive fireworks with those produced by the Ministry of National Defense, then transport them to sellers to deceive law enforcement. In addition, the suspect also used boxes printed with fruit images to disguise the explosive fireworks, creating a cover for the boxes of fruit.

Currently, the case is being further investigated by the Criminal Investigation Agency of Thanh Chuong District Police.
