Authorities crack down on a case and arrest a suspect involved in the illegal transportation of explosives in Nghe An.
(Baonghean.vn) - Despite having a prior conviction for illegally trading explosives, Nguyen An Ai did not mend his ways and was recently arrested again by authorities for repeating his past mistakes.
On April 9th, the Economic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police announced that they had successfully collaborated with the Provincial Security Investigation Department to crack down on a case involving the illegal transportation and trading of explosives, arresting one suspect and seizing a large quantity of explosives, detonators, and other related evidence.
Accordingly, from the beginning of February 2022, the Economic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police discovered that Nguyen An Ai (born in 1960), residing in Quynh Thang commune, Quynh Luu district, showed signs of trading and transporting prohibited goods.explosives) in the areas of Hoang Mai town, Quynh Luu district (Nghe An) and Nghi Son town (Thanh Hoa), so a special investigation was launched. This suspect had a previous conviction for "Illegal trading of explosive materials".

During the investigation, the police determined that Ai regularly collected explosives and detonators from various locations and stored them at home. When "customers" needed them, the suspect would personally deliver the goods.
To evade authorities, Ai often disguised explosives in plastic tubes, plastic containers, and cardboard boxes, used multiple phone numbers for communication, only traded explosives with people he knew beforehand, and usually conducted the transactions at night or in the rain.

After a period of surveillance, at approximately 6:30 PM on April 6, 2022, in Quynh Trang commune, Hoang Mai town, the task force of the Economic Police Department and the Security Investigation Department of the Nghe An Provincial Police successfully cracked a case, arresting Nguyen An Ai for illegally transporting explosives and seizing evidence including 25 kg of explosives and 250 detonators.
At the police station, Nguyen An Ai admitted to all of his criminal acts.
The investigation into this case is currently ongoing and being expanded.
