Breaking up a case of stealing buffalo and cows worth 65 million VND
(Baonghean.vn)- On December 26, Tan Ky District Police successfully cracked a case of buffalo theft and returned the buffalo to the victim.
Accordingly, during the period (May to June 2016) in Tan Ky district, there were a number of buffalo and cow thefts, causing panic and anxiety among the people and negatively affecting the social order and safety in the area.

The subject's modus operandi was to take advantage of families living near major roads, with gaps in barn management, and homeowners sleeping soundly to steal cattle. After committing the crime, the subject quickly escaped, making the investigation difficult.
Faced with the above situation, the Tan Ky District Police Command directed the Criminal - Economic - Drug Crime Investigation Team to coordinate with Traffic Police Team No. 3, Department PC67 to establish Project 616 B to concentrate forces to fight.

After a period of investigation, on December 26, the Investigation Committee issued an emergency arrest warrant for Nguyen Dinh Nghiem (born in 1974), residing in Quy Hop town; Nguyen Van Viet (born in 1973), residing in Chau Quang commune, Quy Hop district. It is known that Nguyen Dinh Nghiem was sentenced to 36 months in prison, suspended, for theft of property, and Nguyen Van Viet was sentenced to 5 months in prison, suspended, for gambling. The above subjects confessed to having committed 2 thefts of buffaloes and cows in Tan Ky district, worth about 65 million VND.
Currently, Tan Ky District Police have seized a 24-seat car with license plate 37 B-01542 as evidence of the above thefts, and returned a buffalo to Mr. Le Chu Hai, hamlet 11, Nghia Hanh commune (Tan Ky).
