Police bust multi-million dollar football betting ring, discover guns and grenades.
The Criminal Investigation Department of the Da Nang Public Security Bureau has just dismantled a football betting ring with stakes reaching nearly 1 million USD.
On May 8th, the Da Nang City Police served the indictment decision and executed the temporary detention order against Ho Van Linh, Nguyen Van Tu (31 years old), Le Anh Thinh (34 years old), Nguyen Trung Dan (39 years old), and Le Nguyen Duc (28 years old) to continue investigating their involvement in organizing gambling activities.

On the afternoon of May 6th, detectives from the Criminal Police, Cam Le District Police, and Hoa Vang District Police unexpectedly raided six locations where illegal football betting was being organized to execute emergency search warrants.
Here, the police discovered numerous mobile phones, laptops, 400 million VND in cash, and nearly 4,000 pages of documents showing football betting transactions totaling nearly [amount].1 million USD(than23 billion VND.

Authorities also discovered guns, grenades, machetes, swords, and other weapons at these locations.
According to initial investigations, Linh was the ringleader of the gambling operation. Besides directly taking bets, Linh also provided the gambling website to many others, most of whom had previous criminal records. Each day, this ring organized gambling activities with stakes reaching billions of dong.
