Hyundai i20 2018 sketch
Ahead of the much-anticipated launch of the 2018 Hyundai i20, IAB's graphic artists have sketched out the final design for the rear half of the car.
Shoeb Kalania’s renderings show the car to have many of the same features as previous “leaked” images on test tracks. The most notable is the taillight design, inspired by the third-generation Hyundai i30.
The horizontal license plate is placed in a recessed frame that fits under the tailgate, instead of the position on the trunk of previous versions. The new generation Hyundai i20 will have a rear bumper with a stronger design and equipped with new reflectors.
In the front, the 2018 Hyundai i20 is equipped with a Cascading grille and a new brand logo design. Leaked images show that the car will have a fresher design with changes from the front bumper, grille to fog lights.
Regarding the interior, Hyundai will enhance the touch system on the infotainment screen and add chrome details on the center console and fan.
Hyundai is expected to have few changes in the engine and transmission. The car company offers 3 engine options for the new generation i20: 1.2L Kappa petrol engine connected to a 5-speed manual transmission; 1.4L petrol engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission and 1.4L U2 CRDi diesel engine connected to a 6-speed manual transmission.
It is expected that the 2018 Hyundai i20 version will be officially launched at Auto Expo 2018, on February 7./.
