Ahead of the highly anticipated launch of the 2018 Hyundai i20, IAB's graphic artist has created a complete design sketch for the rear half of the car.

Shoeb Kalania's sketches show that the car shares many similarities with the previously leaked images from road tests. Most notably, the taillight design is inspired by the third-generation Hyundai i30.

The license plate is now housed in a recessed frame that fits snugly under the tailgate, replacing its previous position on the trunk lid. The new generation Hyundai i20 will feature a more aggressively designed rear bumper and new reflector lights.

At the front, the 2018 Hyundai i20 features a Cascading grille and a redesigned brand logo. Leaked images reveal a fresher look with changes to the front bumper, grille, and fog lights.

In terms of interior design, Hyundai will enhance the touchscreen on the infotainment system and add chrome accents to the center console and air vents.

Hyundai is not expected to make many changes to the engine and powertrain. The automaker offers three engine options for the new generation i20: a 1.2L Kappa petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission; a 1.4L petrol engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission; and a 1.4L U2 CRDi diesel engine linked with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The 2018 Hyundai i20 is expected to officially debut at Auto Expo 2018 on February 7th.
