Pham Duc Phong: From a shy boy to a child star of VTV
Child actor Pham Duc Phong, who played Bien in 'One Millimeter Away From You', shared his journey to acting, overcoming shyness and leaving his mark through each role.
Pham Duc Phong, the child actor who played the younger version of Bien in the film "One Millimeter Away From You," is receiving great attention from television viewers. This is his second film to air on VTV3 in 2025, following his role as Phom in "Dusty Roads," which helped the young actor quickly make his mark.

An unexpected journey from acting class to the VTV screen.
Sharing about how he got into acting, Pham Duc Phong said that it was initially his family's plan. "At that time, I lacked confidence and was often shy and timid, so my parents decided to enroll me in acting classes during my summer break to become more confident in interacting with people," Phong recounted. From his initial goal of improving his self-confidence, he gradually developed a passion for the arts and found his love for the profession after three years of studying.
Opportunities for both VFC television dramas came through acting teachers. When the cast of "One Millimeter Away From You" was recruiting actors, his teacher encouraged Phong to audition. Having previously seen "Dusty Roads," the directors quickly recognized Phong's suitability for the role of Bien and gave him the part without much testing.

Two roles, one mark: The difference between Bien and Phom
Although both characters, Phom and Bien, come from difficult circumstances and lack affection, Pham Duc Phong believes that the role of Bien is a greater challenge. "In my opinion, Phom in the other film was sad but still had a cheerful side. Bien in this film, however, is more mature and his inner self isn't as cheerful, so I feel that the role of Bien is more difficult," the young actor analyzed.
To prepare for the role, Phong shared that he carefully read the script to grasp the character's psychology and acted naturally, "like how I meet and interact with people every day." He also emphasized the enthusiastic support from the directors and the film crew, which helped him successfully complete his role.

Dreams of less demanding roles and gratitude to the audience.
When asked about actor Hoang Long, who plays the adult Bien, Phong expressed his admiration. He said he was impressed with Hoang Long's portrayal of Sen in the film "Red Rain" and believed that Hoang Long would perfectly embody the role of Bien.
Regarding his future plans, Phong hopes to try his hand at more diverse roles. "Next year, I hope to get a role with a different kind of character... happier, stronger, and less suffering," he humorously shared. He affirmed his desire to pursue an acting career long-term.
Finally, Pham Duc Phong expressed his sincere gratitude to the audience for watching and supporting the child actors in the film. "I am very grateful to everyone for watching and supporting us... I hope everyone will enjoy the new scenes of the characters as they grow up and continue to support the film 'One Millimeter Away From You'," he said.
