The escaped prisoner from Nghe An province has been apprehended.
After escaping from a detention center run by the Ministry of Public Security, Thanh stayed in the forest, eating leaves to stave off hunger for two days.
On the evening of November 6th, Lieutenant Colonel Do Ngoc Trong, warden of A2 prison (Ministry of Public Security), announced that Cao Dang Thanh (30 years old, from Nghe An province), who escaped from prison two days earlier, had been apprehended.

At 7:40 PM on November 6th, dozens of police officers surrounded and apprehended Thanh while he was hiding in a forest in Dien Khanh district (Khanh Hoa province), a few hundred meters from A2 prison.
"For the past two days, he hasn't gone outside; he's just stayed in the forest, looking for leaves to eat to stave off hunger," said Lieutenant Colonel Trong.
According to records, Thanh served 10 years and 9 months in prison for a series of crimes:Robbery, Theft, Resisting arrestandEscaped from custody.
After lunch on November 4th, this inmate escaped from the prison in Dien Lam commune, Dien Khanh district. The guards discovered him and chased after him, but he ran into the nearby forest to hide and then disappeared.
Dozens of police officers from various forces in Khanh Hoa province have launched a search, blocking off numerous roads and issuing an arrest warrant for the escaped prisoner.
