Phan Văn Đức opens up about SLNA, injuries, and his longing for the football field.

Midfielder Phan Văn Đức suffered an injury after the match against Quảng Nam in the first round of the V.League 2019. He then spent two months recovering and was scheduled to return to the pitch. Unfortunately, he suffered a recurrence of the injury and had to undergo ligament surgery in Singapore, with the injury being much more complex than the first time.

Currently, he is receiving treatment at the PVF Center and will return to Singapore for a follow-up examination in three weeks. It is expected that the SLNA player could return to playing in approximately 6-8 months if the treatment progresses smoothly.

PV: After a rather long time away from the football field, how do you feel?

Phan Van Duc:I think most people can understand my feelings to some extent. For a player, there's nothing more disheartening than living without a ball, without a pitch. Injuries like this are unavoidable in a career. And I will try my best to recover and return to the field as soon as possible.

PV: After treatment in Singapore, did the doctors give Phan Van Duc any special instructions?

Phan Van Duc:The doctors at PVF Center have been very attentive and helpful in guiding me. Throughout this time, I've had a dedicated doctor monitoring and supervising each of my exercises. Because I've just had surgery, I'm only doing gym exercises, gentle leg rotations, and following a specific diet and lifestyle. I hope my recovery will be smooth and without any unexpected complications.

PV: Germany was absent from both matches against Thailand. What are your thoughts on Vietnam's chances in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers?

Phan Van Duc:Our Vietnamese national team is gradually establishing its position on the regional football map. Although I and a few others are unfortunately absent due to injuries, I believe that with the determination and talent of the current generation of players, the skillful leadership of the coaching staff, and the support of the fans, we will certainly achieve a good result in this qualifying round.

PV: SLNA is currently facing many difficulties in the V.League. When watching your teammates play, do you feel that they have been somewhat unlucky?

Phan Van Duc:Song Lam Nghe An FC has always been like that, always creating surprises in the final stages. Last season, the club was almost at the bottom of the table in the first half, but we made a spectacular comeback in the second half. And I hope it will be the same this time. With the determination of the whole team and a little luck, I believe that SLNA can bounce back.

PV: Based on your expectations and predictions, what is your expected final ranking for SLNA when the V.League 2019 season concludes?

Phan Van Duc:I hope SLNA will secure a place in the top 4 of the final standings. It's a shame I couldn't play with my teammates throughout the 2019 season. However, I hope everyone will look forward to seeing me and SLNA shine in the near future.

PV: What message would Phan Văn Đức like to send to the SLNA fans, who are eagerly awaiting your return to the pitch?

Phan Van DucAlthough I can't be in the stands, I still regularly talk and interact with everyone on social media. I hope that everyone will continue to support SLNA and me in all circumstances. SLNA will certainly not let anyone down.
