Phan Van Duc opens up about SLNA, injuries and missing the football field

Midfielder Phan Van Duc was injured after the match against Quang Nam in round 1 of V.League 2019. After that, he spent 2 months treating the injury and was scheduled to return to the field immediately. However, unfortunately, he suffered a recurrence of the injury and had to go to Singapore for ligament surgery with a much more complicated injury than the first time.

He is currently being treated at the PVF Center and will return to Singapore for a follow-up examination in 3 weeks. It is expected that the SLNA player will be able to return to competition in about 6-8 months if the treatment progresses smoothly.

PV: After a long time away from the football field, how do you feel?

Phan Van Duc:I think everyone can understand my feelings. There is nothing more disappointing for a player than living without a ball and a pitch. Injuries like this are inevitable in a career. And I will try my best to recover and return to the field as soon as possible.

PV: After treatment in Singapore, did the doctors give Phan Van Duc any special instructions?

Phan Van Duc:The doctors at PVF Center have taken care of me and guided me very enthusiastically. During this time, I always had a doctor to monitor and control each of my exercises. Because I had just had surgery, I only did GYM exercises, gently rotated my legs, and ate and lived according to a certain regimen. I also hope that the recovery process will be smooth and without any unexpected problems.

PV: Germany was absent in both matches against Thailand. What do you think about the Vietnam national team's chances in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers?

Phan Van Duc:Our Vietnam national football team is gradually asserting its position on the regional football map. Although I and some of my friends are reluctantly absent due to injuries, I believe that with the determination and talent of the current generation of players, the skillful guidance of the coaching staff and the support of the fans, we will certainly have a good result in this qualifying round.

PV: Right now SLNA is facing many difficulties in V.League, when watching your teammates compete, do you feel that your teammates are somehow unlucky?

Phan Van Duc:Song Lam Nghe An football team has always been like that, always creating surprises in the final stages. Last season, the club was almost at the bottom of the table in the first leg but we made an excellent breakthrough in the second leg. And I hope this time will be the same. Phan Van Duc:I hope SLNA will maintain a position in the Top 4 in the end. It's a pity that I can't compete with my teammates throughout the 2019 season. However, I hope everyone will wait for me and SLNA to shine in the near future.
