At the 45th UPU International Letter Writing Competition (2016), Nguyen Thi Thu Trang (grade 9B, 2015-2016 school year, Nguyen Trai Secondary School, Nam Sach District, Hai Duong) won the national first prize and the international first prize (this is the second time a Vietnamese student has won the international first prize).
With the theme "Write a letter to yourself at the age of 45", Nguyen Thi Thu Trang's letter contained emotional confidences and sharing that touched the hearts of the judges.
Thu Trang transformed into a 3-year-old Syrian boy, Alan Kurdi, to paint a paradise, a happy future, without war for many children around the world.
The honesty and heartbreak in each word really impressed the International Jury of the UPU International Letter Writing Competition. On this occasion, Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, in addition to receiving the International and National awards from the Organizing Committee, also received certificates of merit from the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
