Launching the "Students with a Green Lifestyle" campaign in Nghe An.

On the morning of November 28th, in Vinh Phu ward, Nghe An province, the Ministry of Education and Training, in collaboration with UNICEF Vietnam and the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province, organized the launching ceremony of the "Students with a Green Lifestyle" campaign.

Attending the program were Mr. Nguyen Xuan An Viet - Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Department - Ministry of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung - Education Officer, UNICEF in Vietnam; representatives from the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Nghe An province, and 250 students from across the province.

The "Students with a Green Lifestyle" launch ceremony was organized with the aim of enhancing skills, building behaviors, and promoting a green lifestyle among students; creating a forum for them to exchange and share initiatives, knowledge, and effective models for environmental protection and climate change adaptation; and promoting the role of students in raising awareness, changing behavior, and demonstrating responsibility towards health and the environment.

This is an important starting point, encouraging students to actively participate in activities that raise awareness and take practical action on disaster prevention and response.climate changeand protect the environment. From there, each student will become a "green ambassador," spreading positive thoughts and good deeds to their family, school, and society.

Vietnam is one of the countries most severely affected by climate change. Recent extreme weather events are no longer a potential risk, but have become a real threat, directly impacting the country's sustainable development.

In 2025 alone, we witnessed numerous unusual natural disasters. Prolonged heavy rains caused flooding and landslides not only in the northern provinces but also severely affected the South Central and Central Highlands regions. In addition, a record-breaking heatwave lasting throughout the summer of 2025, with temperatures exceeding 40°C in many areas, not only impacted health but also led to droughts and water shortages for daily life and production.

Given this situation, environmental protection and adaptation to climate change have become urgent tasks. Based on practical requirements, the Ministry of Education and Training has been proactively integrating educational content on these issues.environmentIntegrating biodiversity and climate change response into curricula at all levels of education aims to equip young people with the necessary knowledge and skills to protect themselves and become active advocates in their communities.

With a formidable force of over 1 million officials and teachers and 24 million students, the entire education sector clearly defines its pioneering mission in disseminating information and raising community awareness about disaster prevention and control, climate change adaptation, and environmental protection, contributing to the achievement of the country's sustainable development goals.
