Detecting 2 cases of COVID-19 infection in the community
(Baonghean.vn) - The morning news of January 28 of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said that on the night of January 27, after receiving test results, 2 cases of COVID-19 infection in the community were confirmed (1 case in Hai Duong and 1 case in Quang Ninh).
The Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Health held an urgent online meeting with the two provinces of Quang Ninh and Hai Duong. Measures to contain and contain the epidemic in these two provinces are being proactively and resolutely implemented.
After receiving information from Japan about the discovery of a Hai Duong woman testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 after entering Osaka, on January 27, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long immediately sent a working group of the Ministry of Health including leaders and anti-epidemic experts from 3 units, including the Department of Preventive Medicine, the Department of Medical Environment Management and the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology to Hai Duong to support the locality in implementing epidemiological investigation, surveillance and emergency measures to respond to epidemic prevention and control.

“This working group is led by Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Nhu Duong - Deputy Director of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology - who has experience in fighting epidemics in hot spots in the past year such as Son Loi, Binh Thuan, Da Nang..., to manage the monitoring, tracing, and zoning work together with 2 leaders of the Department of Preventive Medicine and the Department of Medical Environment Management.
The delegation will set up camp in Hai Duong and coordinate with the province to immediately implement comprehensive anti-epidemic measures in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction on "rapid anti-epidemic" - Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said.
Late in the afternoon of January 27, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, held an urgent meeting with the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee at the Ministry of Health.

Immediately after the meeting, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen - Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control went directly to Hai Duong to direct urgent epidemic prevention and control work in the province.
Late on the evening of January 27, after receiving test results confirming two cases of COVID-19 infection in the community (one case in Hai Duong and one case in Quang Ninh), the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Health held an urgent online meeting with the two provinces of Quang Ninh and Hai Duong to listen to the working delegation of the Ministry of Health and the Steering Committee for epidemic prevention and control of the two localities report on the implementation of measures to isolate, detect and quarantine cases that have had close contact with positive cases at their residence and workplace, and to implement testing and treatment.
At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said that the Ministry of Health continued to mobilize testing experts from Bach Mai Hospital, the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, the University of Public Health and Hanoi Medical University to Hai Duong to support testing on the morning of January 28.
The urgent online meeting between the Steering Committee and leaders of Hai Duong and Quang Ninh provinces took place late at night on January 27. The Hai Duong side was attended by Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen and members of the working group sent by the Ministry of Health.
In addition, the Ministry of Health also requested Hai Duong Medical Technical University and Hai Duong Central College of Pharmacy to send staff and students to participate in epidemic prevention and control work in the area.
Regarding treatment, the Ministry of Health has mobilized the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases to help Hai Duong province immediately establish a local treatment system to provide on-site treatment; only severe cases will be transferred to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
On the night of January 27 and the morning of January 28, the Ministry of Health will dispatch units of the Ministry of Health to Hai Duong to support sample collection and testing. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Quynh Mai - Deputy Director of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology will directly direct the testing work.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam directed: “Because the time is close to the Lunar New Year, the implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures must be at a higher level. Hai Duong must put itself in the same situation as Da Nang before, the Ministry of Health will provide maximum support, however, Hai Duong must concentrate highly, how to completely isolate the area within 10 days”.
The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized that because the case in Hai Duong is related to the case infected with the new strain of SARS-CoV-2 according to information from Japan, special caution is needed to ensure maximum safety for the epidemic prevention and control force.
For Quang Ninh province, the Deputy Prime Minister directed the province to conduct contact tracing up to F3, immediately deploy epidemic prevention and control measures according to regulations of the Ministry of Health and regularly report the situation, the Ministry of Health will support if necessary.

Information on 2 new cases:
CASE 1552 (BN 1552): female, 34 years old, Vietnamese nationality, occupation: Worker of POYUN Company Limited, with permanent address at Kim Dien, Hung Dao commune, Chi Linh city, Hai Duong province.
The patient had close contact with a female patient who tested positive after entering Osaka (Japan).
The patient was quarantined and tested. The test results confirmed on the evening of January 27 that the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2.
The patient is currently isolated and treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Dong Anh facility.
CASE 1553 (BN 1553): Male, 31 years old, Vietnamese nationality, occupation: employee of Van Don Airport, with permanent address in Hong Ha ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province.
Due to symptoms of fever, dry cough, and sore throat, the patient went to the hospital for examination.
The hospital took samples, and the test results on the evening of January 27 from the Quang Ninh Center for Disease Control confirmed that the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2.
The patient is currently isolated and treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Dong Anh facility.
