Authorities discovered a large quantity of valuable timber hidden in the luggage compartment of a passenger bus.

Upon inspection, traffic police discovered a large quantity of rosewood, mahogany, teak, and pine (belonging to groups 1, 2, 3, and 4)... hidden in the luggage compartment of a passenger bus.

On the morning of November 29th, the Road and Rail Traffic Police Department (PC67) of Thua Thien-Hue Provincial Police announced that they had handed over a large quantity of valuable timber from groups 1 to 4 to the Provincial Forest Protection Department for handling according to the law.

Passenger bus license plate: 47B-015.40.

Earlier, at around 8:00 AM on the same day, Patrol Team No. 1 of the PC67 Department, led by Major Nguyen Hoang Vu, was on duty at Km 23 of the Hue bypass road when they spotted a sleeper bus belonging to Tu Tai bus company, license plate 47B-015.40, driven by Do Van Sinh (34 years old, residing in Hoa Dong commune, Krong Pak district, Dak Lak province) traveling in the South-North direction, showing suspicious signs. They signaled the vehicle to stop.

Several pairs of decorative vases made from pine wood were hidden in the passenger bus.

Upon inspection, traffic police discovered a large quantity of precious wood, including: 265kg of rosewood roots (Group 1 precious wood); 0.133m3 of mahogany, 0.124m3 of teak (both Group 3); 1.242m3 of pine (Group 4)... hidden in the luggage compartment of the passenger bus. However, the driver, Sinh, could not present documents proving the origin of the wood, so a report was filed and the wood was confiscated.

Driver Sinh confessed that he was hired by a cargo owner to transport this valuable timber from Dak Lak to Hanoi for sale.
