Unexploded bomb found near Do Luong bridge

At 2:30 p.m. on October 14, residents of Dang Son Hamlet 3, Do Luong Commune, discovered an unexploded bomb on the right bank of Lam River (the former Ferry Terminal), more than 200 meters from Do Luong Bridge.

Due to recent floods, the Lam River bank in this area has eroded more than 50m, and 6m deep from the Lam River bank, the bomb was discovered.

After receiving the news, the Military Command of Do Luong Commune sent forces to cordon off the area to protect the scene while waiting for the authorities to handle the situation. At the same time, they coordinated with the authorities of Hamlet 3 to notify the fishing village households to move to a safe location.

The bomb is 2.2m long, with the main body 1.6m, the propeller tail 0.6m, and the body diameter 0.3m.

Local people here said that in 1968, American planes dropped bombs on this area. According to the plan, tomorrow (October 15), the authorities will proceed to remove this unexploded bomb.
