The naked body of a goat herder girl was found on the mountain.
Residents of Chau Lang commune were shocked to discover the body of a young goat herder at the foot of Mo Coi mountain. Remarkably, the victim's body was unclothed and had numerous scratches.
According to initial information, at approximately 5:00 PM on January 3rd, the Tri Ton District Police received a report from the Chau Lang Commune Police regarding the discovery of the body of Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hien (27 years old, residing in Lo Leng Hamlet, Chau Lang Commune, Tri Ton District) lying dead at the foot of Mo Coi Mountain.
Many residents reported that when Ms. Hien's body was discovered, it was naked. There were bruises on her right forehead and around both eyes, marks on her neck, and numerous abrasions on her abdomen, left thigh, and right thigh.

According to the victim's family, Ms. Hien usually grazed her goats at the foot of Mo Coi Mountain, where the crime occurred. At approximately 2:00 PM on the same day, Hien was grazing her goats alone and was not wearing any jewelry.
At approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes later, a local resident discovered Ms. Hien's body and reported it to the Chau Lang commune police.
Upon receiving the report, law enforcement officers from An Giang Provincial Police and Tri Ton District Police secured the scene to find the perpetrator.
On the afternoon of January 4th, Lieutenant Colonel Do Van Muoi Bon, Head of the Staff Department of the An Giang Provincial Police, stated that functional forces of the An Giang Provincial Police had urgently arrested Lam Van Doi (born in 1996, residing in Chau Doc City, An Giang Province) to continue investigating and clarifying the suspected rape and murder of Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hien.
