On the morning of April 24th, the Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department of Nam Dinh Provincial Police announced that on the afternoon of April 23rd, they coordinated with Market Management Team No. 1, Nam Dinh Market Management Sub-Department, to inspect a sausage and other food product business owned by Mr. Hoang Quoc Dam (29 years old), located at 199 Vu Huu Loi Street, Cua Nam Ward, Nam Dinh City.
Here, the inspection team discovered 584 packages (292 kg) of Tokyo brand sausages and Ho Lo Vietfood brand sausages, Surimi brand shrimp products (produced by Viet Food Processing and Trading Company, located in An Tay commune, Ben Cat district, Binh Duong province), 81 boxes (40.5 kg) of Quang Linh brand fermented pork sausage (produced by Quang Linh company, located in Binh Hoa commune, Thanh Oai district, Hanoi), 9 bags (45 kg) of chicken floss (produced by Nguyen Thi Van business household, located at 300 Dong Khoi, Tan Phong district, Bien Hoa city), 11 bags (55 kg) of instant dried meat (produced by Trung Nam Food Processing and Trading Service Company Limited), and 50 bags (1,134 kg) of foreign-origin corn kernels without Vietnamese labels.

The shop owner, Hoang Quoc Dam, was unable to produce invoices or documents related to the declaration of food quality for all the aforementioned goods.
Notably, out of 292 kg of sausages, 212 kg, including 182 kg of Tokyo sausages (364 packages, 3,640 pieces) and 30 kg of Ho Lo Vietfood sausages (60 packages, 2,400 pieces), showed signs of using the additive Sodium nitrate 251, a potentially carcinogenic substance banned from use in this food product.
The task force drew up an initial report and temporarily seized all the food products. They also took samples of the two types of sausages mentioned above and sent them to a testing agency.
This afternoon, April 24th, the Environmental Crime Prevention Police Department handed over the case and seized evidence to the Nam Dinh Market Management Sub-Department for further verification and processing according to regulations.
