Promoting the conservation value of Nghe An museums.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 15th, Ms. Dinh Thi Le Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting to hear and give opinions on the draft project for researching, collecting, restoring, and preserving documents and artifacts of the Nghe An Museum.
The leaders of the Nghe An Museum presented the purpose and necessity of issuing the project: Since its establishment, the Nghe An Museum has always focused on research, collection, inventory, preservation, and restoration of documents and artifacts, and has effectively performed its assigned functions, duties, and powers. However, in recent times, the museum's research, collection, preservation, inventory, and restoration of documents and artifacts have faced many difficulties and shortcomings, such as: inadequate and severely degraded facilities for preserving documents and artifacts; many valuable artifacts are at risk of being lost; the museum staff have not kept pace with new technologies; and the number of artifacts requiring repair and restoration, both in the museum and among the general public, is enormous.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Mao, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, believes this is an urgent project that needs to be implemented. However, the total budget needs to be reduced to align with the province's current budget. |
With the aim of making the museum an attractive destination for the people and tourists, the development and implementation of a research, collection, inventory, preservation, and restoration plan for the documents and artifacts of the Nghe An Museum is a necessary step to create an important foundation for preserving and promoting the invaluable values of the Museum.
After hearing the opinions of representatives from various departments, Comrade Dinh Thi Le Thanh concluded: The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is tasked with revising the project proposal to align with the timeframe, specifically defining the artifacts and the budget for collection. The project proposal should be phased for immediate investment over five years and finalized for submission to the Provincial People's Committee before October 20, 2015.
