(Baonghean.vn) - "As the Lunar New Year is approaching, we must make efforts and try to promote resources to best ensure social security for people facing difficulties due to the pandemic. Try to make sure everyone has a warm Tet holiday," Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam requested.
On the afternoon of January 12, a national online conference was held to deploy tasks for labor, meritorious people and society in 2022.
Attending the conference at the main bridge were comrades: Vu Duc Dam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Party Central Committee of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister; Dao Ngoc Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; and representatives of relevant ministries, departments and branches.

Last year, with many fluctuations due to the pandemic, the Labor sector with the motto of action "Solidarity, discipline, innovation, development" and 6 key directions and operations has promoted the spirit of initiative and creativity to well implement all assigned tasks. In which, the goals on labor, meritorious people and society assigned by the National Assembly have been concretized into 18 targets, 15 groups of tasks, main solutions and 73 specific tasks, assigned to units under the Ministry, Departments of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of provinces and cities to organize implementation.
In particular, the industry has coordinated to successfully complete the "dual goal" of both preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic and supporting economic recovery, removing difficulties for businesses, and supporting people and workers severely affected by the pandemic. The total budget for implementing Resolution 68/NQ-CP nationwide is over VND 35.9 trillion, supporting over 31.28 million beneficiaries..Implementing Resolution No. 116/NQ-CP, up to now, support has been provided to over 12.8 million workers with a support amount of over 30.5 trillion VND.
In addition, the Government also provided rice to relieve hunger for people, mobilized huge social resources from organizations and individuals, and millions of "welfare bags" to support people during the epidemic.

Also in the past year, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has practically improved the effectiveness of the work of building and strictly implementing the law on labor, meritorious people and society. Timely implementing solutions and policies on labor - employment, supporting the development of the labor market, improving the quality of human resources.
However, in general, the labor market in 2021 still faces many difficulties, with the unemployment rate this year higher than last year, in which: the unemployment rate of working-age laborers in urban areas is high at 4.42%; the underemployment rate of working-age laborers in urban areas is 3.33%.
The work of sending workers to work abroad for a limited period of time has also been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic as many countries have closed their doors, implemented social distancing and stopped accepting workers. It is estimated that about 45,000 workers will be sent to work abroad under contracts this year.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam affirmed: 2021 is a year of many fluctuations, especially due to the pandemic, however, Vietnam still has a growth rate of 5.59%, which is a good figure compared to the general level of the region and the world.
In particular, over the past year, we have made unprecedented efforts to ensure social security, especially in areas with locked-down epidemics and hospitals treating Covid-19 patients. In addition, the Ministry has advised on the issuance of Resolution 68/NQ-CP on supporting workers affected by the epidemic and Resolution 126/ND-CP amending and supplementing Resolution 68/NQ-CP dated July 1, 2021, which has been implemented in great detail and optimized in implementation.
To continue to perform well in all aspects of work in 2022, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that for the work of solving vocational training and employment, there should be a strategy in vocational training and solving on-site employment, as well as the work of sending workers to work abroad.
Regarding children's work, the Deputy Prime Minister said: "Almost every year there are heartbreaking incidents, but last year there was an incident that caused outrage among the masses when a child was abused to death. Therefore, the child protection network needs to be promoted. Especially in the context of a complicated epidemic, children have to stay at home for a long time, which will easily have a negative impact on their psychology."
“To adapt to the new situation, we absolutely need digital services to ensure payment and storage of industry resources. Furthermore, many fields cannot be well monitored and implemented without digital technology,” the Deputy Prime Minister suggested.

In 2022, in the development trend of technology 4.0, the industry is determined to digitally transform to build data fields to effectively perform its tasks./.
