Harnessing the strength of national unity to develop the country.

Ninety-five years ago, under the leadership of the Party, the Anti-Imperialist Alliance was established on November 18, 1930, becoming the first organization of the Vietnam National United Front. Throughout the process of national liberation struggle and nation-building, under various names and forms, the National United Front has always fulfilled its mission of gathering and uniting all strata of the Vietnamese people. Regardless of the stage, the core principle of the Front has always been the unity of the entire people for a common goal.national independence and the prosperity and happiness of the people.

President Ho Chi Minh absorbed the best of national and international values ​​regarding national unity, initiating and fostering national unity when we had a people's government. His ideology has been inherited and developed by our Party throughout all historical periods. The Party has always affirmed national unity as a strategic guideline, an invaluable tradition, the source of national and revolutionary strength, and the decisive factor in all victories in the cause of building, protecting, and developing the country."Unity, unity, great unity - Success, success, great success"It has become the truth, the way of life for us.

Throughout the long and arduous resistance wars, it was the strength of national unity that forged the great victories. From the August Revolution of 1945 to the Dien Bien Phu Victory of 1954, from the Great Spring Victory of 1975 to the Doi Moi (Renovation) period, each historical turning point bears the indelible mark of the solidarity and joint efforts of the entire nation under the leadership of the Party. This was achieved thanks to the promotion of this spirit."National unity"Millions upon millions of Vietnamese people from different classes, religions, and ethnic groups have united under the banner of the Party, fighting and sacrificing for the independence, freedom, and unification of the country.

Today, the great lesson of national unity remains highly relevant. Looking at the world, we increasingly appreciate the value of a united nation."Unity of heart and mind", "Generals and soldiers united as father and son / Sharing the river water and sweet wine", "Oh gourd, have pity on the pumpkin / Though of different kinds, they grow on the same vine"...living together in harmony and peace in the land of the Dragon and the Immortal, while many countries are facing social divisions, ethnic and religious conflicts, and prolonged political instability. War, violence, and factional conflicts occur in many places, and in some areas, conflicts have driven people into displacement, extreme poverty, and destitution. The global geopolitical landscape is predicted to remain unstable and unpredictable. In this context, Vietnam emerges as a bright spot with a stable political and social environment, and a people united in their commitment to the common goal of building and developing the country.

A recent and exemplary example of the spirit of unity and democracy in our society is the political campaign to gather feedback on the draft documents for the 14th National Congress of the Party. For the first time, the process of soliciting public opinion on Party Congress documents was widely implemented, utilizing digital technology to allow easy participation from citizens both domestically and internationally. Through the VNeID application on smartphones and online portals, millions of people have submitted heartfelt opinions to the Party. To date, nearly 3 million opinions have been submitted through various channels (including over 2 million through the VNeID platform...). This is the largest number of opinions contributed to any Party Congress to date, clearly demonstrating the democratic spirit, consensus, and political responsibility of our people towards the country's important decisions. The voice of the people – stemming from the practical realities of life – will be a valuable contribution, helping our Party to refine its policies and accurately reflect the will and aspirations of the people in the upcoming documents of the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Another example is that from the beginning of 2025 until now, many provinces and cities across the country, especially in the North and Central-Western Highlands regions, have suffered from successive natural disasters, with continuous heavy rains and floods causing particularly serious damage to people and property. In response to this situation, under the close guidance of the Party and the State, forces such as the army, police, medical personnel, and militia quickly intervened to rescue people, organize emergency evacuations, and support the reconstruction of lives after the floods. At the same time, the people of the whole country also united and strongly upheld the tradition of"Mutual love and support", "helping those in need", "loving others as you love yourself"of the nation. From agencies, organizations, and businesses to spontaneous charitable groups and youth volunteer teams, resources have been mobilized and donated to share and support people in flood-affected areas to overcome difficulties.

Not only is there national unity, but Vietnamese people both at home and abroad are also becoming increasingly closely connected. Our compatriots in many countries always look towards their homeland, contributing their intellect and resources to the country in various ways. Fundraising campaigns "For Vietnam's Seas and Islands," programs connecting overseas Vietnamese entrepreneurs to invest in the country, or free Vietnamese language classes organized by overseas Vietnamese communities… all stem from a heart always yearning for their roots, from the spirit of great unity of the descendants of Lac and Hong, no matter where they are. It can be affirmed that never before has the great national unity of our people, including those at home and over 5 million Vietnamese abroad, been as firmly consolidated as it is today. This is a tremendous source of internal strength, a foundation for the country to overcome all challenges and steadily advance on the path of reform and integration.

In the coming period, to further consolidate the great national unity, we must first strengthen unity within the Party and the national unity under the Party's leadership. More than ever, we must prioritize consolidating and promoting the strength of national unity, considering it a key factor in ushering the country into a new era of development. This requires every cadre and Party member to truly set an example, "match words with actions," placing the interests of the nation and the people above all else; resolutely fighting to thwart all conspiracies, methods, and tactics of hostile forces aiming to divide our unity.

At the same time, it is necessary to continuously improve the material and spiritual lives and protect the legitimate rights of the people. This is both a goal and a driving force in consolidating national unity. The Party identifies the people as the center; taking the happiness and well-being of the people as the goal to strive for. Special attention should be paid to vulnerable people and those in difficult areas: ethnic minorities, people in remote areas, border regions, islands, former revolutionary base areas, and areas frequently affected by natural disasters… Continue to effectively implement sustainable poverty reduction programs and social security policies, ensuring that no one is left behind. When the people are prosperous, the country is strong, democratic, just, and civilized, and when all citizens enjoy the fruits of development fairly, national unity will be even stronger, and no force can incite division.

Along with that, it is necessary to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations, focusing on the grassroots and putting the people at the center of service. The Fatherland Front needs to better fulfill its core role in gathering and uniting all social strata and outstanding individuals… all towards the common goal of a strong and prosperous Vietnam. The Fatherland Front must become a broad forum where all strata of people, ethnic groups, religions, overseas Vietnamese… can meet, exchange, and express their opinions and aspirations in a democratic and open manner. At the same time, it is necessary to focus on promoting the role of intellectuals, experts, influential figures in society and the Vietnamese community abroad in contributing ideas for national development.

On the other hand, national unity should not be limited to the national level but should be extended to the international level. Through this, Vietnam can gain the support of friends around the world, creating a favorable environment for the cause of national construction and defense; and at the same time, strengthen solidarity between the Vietnamese people and the people of other countries, especially with peace-loving and progressive forces worldwide. A stable, harmonious, and compassionate Vietnam will certainly make important contributions to peace, cooperation, and the common development of humanity.

The 95-year history of building and promoting the strength of national unity is a glorious journey, leaving behind many profound lessons. Thanks to unity, our nation has achieved seemingly impossible feats, from victories in great wars of national liberation, firmly defending independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, to rising above poverty and backwardness. Today, facing intertwined opportunities and challenges, we must strengthen national unity as carefully as we protect the pupil of our eye. Every Vietnamese citizen, regardless of region, ethnicity, religion, or profession, shares the same determination: to unite for the prosperous future of the country. This is the source of the will, belief, and strength to realize the goal of building a strong, prosperous Vietnam with a happy people. With our heroic nation and united, hardworking, and creative people, Vietnam will surely create new miracles of development, achieving a worthy position and standing shoulder to shoulder with friends around the world.
