Reporter:Comrade, one of the important functions and roles of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is to gather, build, and promote the strength of national unity, strengthen social consensus, and promote the development of the homeland and the country. How has the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in Nghe An province fulfilled this role to care for the lives of the people?
Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh:The practical experience of revolutionary struggle and the building and development of the country and homeland has proven that national unity is an inexhaustible force and a decisive factor in the victory of the revolutionary cause. This has been further demonstrated in the practical activities of the Fatherland Front in Nghe An in recent times.
In particular, when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, we had to carry out a "dual task": developing the economy while simultaneously preventing and combating natural disasters and epidemics. Thanks to the timely and coordinated involvement of the entire political system, coupled with the creativity, dedication, and selfless contributions of the Front's cadres at all levels, a strong sense of community cohesion and a desire for progress were fostered among the people, who shared hardships and joys, overcoming difficulties and challenges to defeat the pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic demonstrated that the greater the difficulties, the more creative we become; the greater the difficulties, the stronger and more powerful the national unity becomes; and the more difficult the circumstances, the more deeply we understand the value of "unity," "comradeship, and brotherhood."
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the economy; on the production and business activities of enterprises; and on the jobs and incomes of the people. Despite the general difficulties in many aspects, the results of mobilizing social resources through the Fatherland Front system at all levels in Nghe An province during the past term reached nearly 5,625.5 billion VND.
In particular, implementing Directive 21 of the Provincial Party Committee on calling for and mobilizing support for the construction of housing for the poor and those with housing difficulties in the province, in just one year, the entire province completed 8,626 houses; bringing the total number of poor households and households with housing difficulties who have moved into new houses in the past 5 years to 13,385 houses (reaching 267.7%) compared to the target of the 2019-2024 term, becoming a miracle, assessed by the congress as "a term of stable housing and livelihood," helping poor households quickly stabilize their lives, focus on labor and production, increase income, and gradually rise out of poverty. These are truly telling figures, reflecting the tradition of the people of Nghe An province: "Through hardship, we truly understand each other." This demonstrates the spirit of "mutual affection and solidarity," the responsibility of provinces and cities nationwide towards President Ho Chi Minh's homeland, and reflects the unconditional love of those who cherish Nghe An; it is the result of the people's will, the people's trust in the Party and the State, and demonstrates the strength of national unity and the timely and coordinated involvement of the entire political system.

Many social welfare activities have also been effectively implemented by the Fatherland Front at all levels in Nghe An province, based on gathering and promoting the strength of national unity. A prime example is the annual "Tet for the Poor" program, which has mobilized significant resources, ensuring that 100% of poor and near-poor households in the province have a happy Tet holiday. The "Fund for the Poor" has received widespread social support, contributing resources to assist the poor, those in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable groups in society.
In the last five years alone (2019-2024), from the funds mobilized for the Poor, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has provided livelihood support to 1,878 poor households; supported production means for 7,851 poor households; supported medical examination and treatment for 12,944 poor people; supported the studies of 42,497 students; and assisted thousands of households in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and restoring damaged public infrastructure…
Reporter:Comrade, along with promoting the strength of national unity to care for the lives of the poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged in the province, the Fatherland Front at all levels has also launched movements and campaigns that have brought practical results. Could you share more specific details on this?
Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh:Over the past period, from mountainous and border regions to plains and coastal areas, wherever there are difficulties, wherever there are poor households and vulnerable groups, wherever there are natural disasters and epidemics… the footprints of the “yellow color of the Fatherland Front” and its member organizations have been found. In addition, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has strengthened and innovated its propaganda work, gathering the great national unity to implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.
The Fatherland Front at all levels actively participates in propaganda, mobilization, and implementation of "effective mass mobilization" models in conjunction with the political system, creating consensus among the people in land clearance for the implementation of construction projects and investment projects in the area.
The campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas," launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, has been creatively implemented by the Fatherland Front at all levels in Nghe An province. They have leveraged the role of the Front's working committees along with the committees of blocks, hamlets, villages, and residential areas, diligently and tirelessly going "from street to street, house to house" to propagate and mobilize support, creating a strong sense of unity and solidarity among the people in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
The fruits of the tireless dedication of the Front cadres at all levels are the complete transformation of the appearance of districts, cities, and towns in the province in all aspects of socio-economic development, national defense, and security; contributing to overcoming difficulties and challenges, persevering, accelerating breakthroughs, and continuing to innovate and develop. Regarding the results of building new rural areas, to date, the entire province has 319 out of 411 communes meeting the new rural area standards; including 83 communes meeting the advanced new rural area standards and 12 communes meeting the model new rural area standards.
Reporter:Currently, the country and Nghe An province are facing demands for higher, faster, and more sustainable development. To continue fulfilling its role in uniting and promoting the strength of national solidarity, and contributing to the overall development of the homeland and the country, how are the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province defining its responsibilities in this "story," Comrade?
Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh:Unity is an extremely valuable tradition and lesson of our nation, forged through thousands of years of history in building and defending the country. Throughout the revolutionary leadership process, our Party has always identified "unity" as a core value and "great national unity" as a strategic guideline, the source of strength, and the main driving force of the Vietnamese revolution. This is also the consistent and overarching idea in the theoretical thinking and practical activities of President Ho Chi Minh.
According to President Ho Chi Minh, one of the decisive factors in the success of the revolution is the unity and solidarity of the entire people, the unity of "everyone as one" under the leadership of the Party. In particular, the rallying cry of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: "The front lines lead, the rear lines support; the first call is followed by all; unity from top to bottom; smooth communication from left to right" has become the guiding principle for each of us in every gesture, deed, and action. With the sincere, simple yet profound message of "5 Truths" from Comrade Do Van Chien - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the 15th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029: "Think truthfully, speak truthfully, do truthfully, achieve truthful results, and the people truly benefit," will always be the "compass" for every Fatherland Front official to implement in the new term, moving from thought to action, all for the people.
Therefore, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels – the symbol of national unity – continues to clearly define its core responsibility as a reliable "bridge," connecting the "blood and flesh" relationship between the Party, the State, and the people; working together with the Party and the State to maximize internal resources, seize opportunities, overcome difficulties and challenges, and resolutely strive to successfully achieve the goals and targets of the Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term and Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo for Nghe An, fulfilling the advice of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: "We must step forward strongly, advance far/ Only then will Nghe An be Nghe An." To achieve this, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has clearly identified its top priority as continuing to promote and innovate propaganda, mobilization, and organization, linking it with practical movements and campaigns to create high social consensus and encourage collective effort.

With strong faith in the Front's innovative activities and the resilient, indomitable tradition, fervent patriotism, and aspirations of the people and the entire political system; especially the "leading the way" spirit of the Nghe Tinh Soviet movement, which will forever be the "sacred flame of revolution," providing further faith and strength for the Fatherland Front at all levels, together with the Party Committee, government, and people of the province, to successfully implement the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels; Resolution 39 of the Politburo; to steadily advance in the process of reform and integration; to build Nghe An province into a rapidly and sustainably developing province; to soon realize the "Lam River aspiration" into a "Lam River miracle," imbued with the cultural identity of Vietnam and Nghe An, in harmony with the aspiration for a prosperous, powerful, and happy nation; worthy of the title "Red Nghe Tinh," worthy of being the homeland of the infinitely beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
