(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 6th, the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications and the Nghe An Provincial Journalists Association, organized the monthly press briefing for May.
The April 2024 press activity report clearly states that prominent issues and events were promptly and effectively reported and publicized by the press. In the field of current affairs and politics, key domestic and foreign activities of the province included: regular meetings of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee.
In particular, the event organized by Nghe An province and Ulyanovsk to receive and inaugurate the statue of V. Lenin in Vinh City received active coverage and extensive publicity from the press and media, spreading a strong impact on public opinion.
The media has published numerous articles, programs, documentary images, and information about the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, affirming the immense scale and significance of this "earth-shattering" victory.
In addition, the press agencies reflected on shortcomings in some projects, and proposed appropriate solutions and methods to overcome existing problems and limitations, restore public trust, and avoid affecting the province's investment attraction policy.
In addition, several issues such as slow progress in land clearance, rising fuel prices putting pressure on businesses, fishermen, and consumers; environmental pollution from waste and mineral exploitation, etc., were also covered and reflected in depth by the press.
Regarding propaganda orientation for May, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requests that media agencies pay special attention to and intensify the dissemination of information on the implementation of Action Program No. 68 on the implementation of Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province until 2030, with a vision to 2045; and the implementation of the Nghe An Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
Strengthen information and communication efforts to highlight the results and achievements attained in all areas during the three years of implementing the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress.
Emphasis will be placed on major events and holidays in the month, such as the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, linked with the special televised artistic program "Lang Sen Nurturing Great Ambitions"; and continued promotion of movements, models, and exemplary cases of "Studying and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Ho Chi Minh".
The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department also requested that newsrooms and media agencies uphold the responsibility of journalists when participating in online forums. Accordingly, they should leverage the advantages of social media, proactively share useful information and issues of interest to readers to spread positive messages and increase the effectiveness of propaganda; while simultaneously refuting false and distorted narratives, becoming a "support" for public opinion against harmful and toxic information.
