(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 24th, the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union held a conference to summarize the work of the Youth Union and youth movements in 2015; and to implement tasks for 2016.

Attending and giving a directive speech at the conference were Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and representatives of the leadership of several departments of the Provincial Party Committee.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, stated that the activities of the Youth Union at all levels focus on fulfilling the province's political tasks.

Overview of the conference.

In 2015, the Youth Union's work and youth movements were extensively implemented by all levels of the Union, focusing on political and ideological education, contributing to raising political and ideological awareness among cadres, members, and young people. The movements "Volunteerism for socio-economic development and national defense" and "Supporting young people in establishing themselves and their careers" continued to generate many practical activities and results.

Notably, youth union branches at all levels have implemented 2 provincial-level youth projects, 32 district-level youth projects, and over 700 commune-level and branch-level youth projects. They established 260 youth volunteer teams to support units in mountainous and particularly disadvantaged areas and donated over 300 gifts to families entitled to preferential policies. Representatives from the Hung Nguyen District Youth Union believe that it is necessary to enhance the effectiveness of the Youth Union's activities at all levels in providing career guidance for its members and young people.

The youth of Nghe An province have also actively implemented many youth projects and activities in building new rural areas. Campaigns such as "Spring on the Border," "Warm Tet in the Western Region," "Bowl of Compassion," voluntary blood donation, volunteer Saturday, and green Sunday have been widely implemented. The provincial youth fund continues to be effective through successful economic development projects and models. The care and education of children and the building of youth organizations are also given attention.

Representatives from the Provincial Agencies' Youth Union believe that the activities of the Youth Union and the youth movement need to continue to innovate in methods and content to create greater appeal.

In his remarks at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged the achievements of the Provincial Youth Union in 2015. The Deputy Secretary also stated that the goal set by the province for the 2015-2020 term – to become a prosperous province and a regional center in the North Central region – places a heavy responsibility on the entire political system, including the crucial role of young people.

To achieve that goal, a high level of effort is required in 2016. Therefore, the Youth Union organization, from the provincial level to the grassroots, must continue to build upon the achievements, address existing shortcomings and limitations, so that the Youth Union's activities and youth movements achieve high effectiveness, contributing more to the overall tasks of the province.

Focus on supporting and accompanying young people in establishing themselves and their careers, especially enabling them to integrate and contribute to the development of their homeland and country. Continue to leverage the energy and intelligence of youth in the fight to ensure border security and social order and safety in the province.

Focus on building a team of Youth Union officials at all levels to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new situation. Comrade Nguyen Dinh Hung - Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union - presented the 2015 Excellent Emulation Flag of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to the Hung Nguyen and Dien Chau District Youth Unions.
