Attending the conference were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Nguyen Thanh Hien - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and Hoang Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

1,755 solidarity houses given to poor households

In the spirit of innovating working methods and approaches, in the first 6 months of 2020, despite being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the activities of the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province were still implemented according to plan and quality, including promoting the application of information technology, enhancing the role of member organizations, typical individuals, and collaborators.

Notably, the program "Tet for the poor - Canh Ty 2020" was successfully organized, reaching over 73.83 billion VND; exceeding the target of improving housing for poor households with a total of 1,755 houses implemented compared to the plan to improve 1,200 houses and the total support amount of nearly 90 billion VND.

The Fatherland Front at all levels has also focused on propagating and mobilizing people to actively participate in the prevention and fight against the Covid-19 epidemic. Nghe An ranked 3rd nationwide in terms of support for the prevention and fight against the Covid-19 epidemic with a total of nearly 75 billion VND, including cash and converted goods.

Patriotic emulation movements and campaigns chaired by the Fatherland Front, especially the campaign "All people build new rural areas and civilized urban areas"; special emulation movements aiming to welcome Party congresses at all levels were widely deployed, creating emulation motivation among all classes of people.

The work of social supervision and criticism, and giving opinions on Party and government building has become increasingly in-depth, practical, and effective. The Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have also proactively organized meetings and contacts with prestigious and representative people among ethnic minorities, religious dignitaries, etc.

In addition to the achieved results, some opinions discussed at the conference also raised some concerns related to the limited response work of the Fatherland Front at all levels; information and propaganda work and grasping the people's situation are sometimes and in some places still lacking initiative; forecasting the situation to propose to the Party Committee and the government is sometimes slow; the quality and effectiveness of the activities of the Fatherland Front Working Committee in the blocks, hamlets and villages are not high.

Promoting the role of the Fatherland Front at all levels in preventing and combating corruption and waste

The conference also set out a number of key tasks for the last 6 months of 2020. That is to promote propaganda activities, mobilize people to well implement the Party's policies, the State's laws and policies, and the program of coordination and unified action of the Vietnam Fatherland Front among all classes of people.

Along with that, activities are organized to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2020) and the "National Great Unity Day in residential areas" in 2020, associated with honoring cultural families and cultural residential areas in 2020; deploying the tasks of the Fatherland Front in preparing for the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2021 - 2026 term.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province continues to set out its determination to strongly innovate the content and methods, and improve the effectiveness of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's activities with the motto "Front in action, towards the grassroots, reaching out to the people" to bring the patriotic emulation movements chaired by the Fatherland Front at all levels into depth, especially the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" and the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind".

Continue to consider innovating the social supervision and criticism program; dialogue activities between leaders of Party committees and authorities at district and commune levels with the people; promote the role of the Fatherland Front at all levels in preventing and combating corruption and waste; build a clean and strong Party and State.

The conference also heard comrades Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee report on the socio-economic situation of the province in the first 6 months of the year, key tasks in the last 6 months of 2020; Nguyen Thanh Hien - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation announced the results of the 9th session of the 14th National Assembly; Hoang Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council announced the preparations for the 15th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council, term 2016 - 2021.

On this occasion, 4 collectives and 8 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for their outstanding achievements in the Front's work in 2019; 35 collectives and 31 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province for their outstanding achievements in the prevention and control of Covid-19.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province also presented Great Solidarity houses to poor households in 10 districts.
