Attending the conference were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; members of the Provincial Party Committee: Nguyen Thanh Hien - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and Hoang Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and representatives of the leadership of several provincial departments and agencies.

In the spirit of innovating working methods and approaches, in the first six months of 2020, despite being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the activities of the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province were still implemented according to plan and with quality, including promoting the application of information technology, strengthening the role of member organizations, outstanding individuals, and the team of collaborators.

Notably, the program "Tet for the Poor - Canh Ty 2020" was successfully organized, raising over 73.83 billion VND; exceeding the target for improving housing for poor households with a total of 1,755 houses completed compared to the planned 1,200 houses, and a total support amount of nearly 90 billion VND.

The Fatherland Front at all levels has also focused on disseminating information and mobilizing the people to actively participate in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic. Nghe An ranked 3rd nationwide in terms of support for Covid-19 prevention and control with a total of nearly 75 billion VND, including cash and in-kind donations.

Patriotic emulation movements and campaigns led by the Vietnam Fatherland Front, especially the "All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign; and special emulation movements aimed at celebrating Party congresses at all levels, have been widely implemented, creating a driving force for emulation among all strata of the people.

The work of social supervision and criticism, contributing to the building of the Party and the government, is becoming increasingly in-depth, practical, and effective. The Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have also proactively organized meetings and interactions with influential and exemplary individuals among ethnic minorities, religious dignitaries, and officials...

Besides the achievements, some opinions discussed at the conference also raised concerns regarding the limitations in the critical review work of the Fatherland Front at all levels; the lack of proactiveness in information dissemination and public awareness campaigns; the slow pace of forecasting and proposing solutions to Party committees and authorities; and the low quality and effectiveness of the Fatherland Front's working committees in residential areas, hamlets, and villages.

Promoting the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in participating in the prevention and fight against corruption and waste.

The conference also outlined several key tasks for the last six months of 2020. These include strengthening propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people to effectively implement the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and the coordinated and unified action program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front among all segments of the population.

In addition, activities commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2020) and the "National Unity Day in Residential Areas" in 2020 were organized, linked with honoring culturally exemplary families and residential areas in 2020; and the Fatherland Front's tasks in preparing for the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2021-2026 term were implemented.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province continues to resolutely innovate the content and methods, and improve the effectiveness of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's activities with the motto "The Front in action, oriented towards the grassroots, reaching into the hearts of the people" to bring the campaigns and patriotic emulation movements led by the Fatherland Front at all levels to a deeper level, especially the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" and the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - no one left behind".

Continue to strive for innovation in the program of social monitoring and criticism; dialogue between the heads of Party committees and governments at the district and commune levels with the people; promote the role of the Fatherland Front at all levels in participating in the prevention and fight against corruption and waste; and build a clean and strong Party and State.

The conference also heard reports from comrades Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on the socio-economic situation of the province in the first six months of the year and key tasks for the last six months of 2020; Nguyen Thanh Hien - Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, on the results and content of the 9th session of the 14th National Assembly; and Hoang Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, on the preparation for the 15th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council, term 2016-2021.

On this occasion, 4 collectives and 8 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for their outstanding achievements in Front work in 2019; 35 collectives and 31 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Nghe An Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for their outstanding achievements in the prevention and control of Covid-19.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province also provided support for "Great Solidarity" houses to poor households in 10 districts.
