THE STORY OF THE BUNDLE OF CHOPSTICKS

Sharing about the journey from the initial idea to the official establishment of the Party branch, Mr. Tran Duc Long – Chief Accountant and Secretary of the Party Branch of Kido Vinh Co., Ltd. said: “It is the result of nearly two years of persistent persuasion and around 10 discussions and meetings between us and the company's leadership.”

With 3,700 employees and over 10 years of operation, Kido Vinh Co., Ltd. has long been recognized as one of the strong, potential, and reputable businesses in Do Luong district. Not only does it provide jobs for unskilled workers, but it also attracts many capable and enthusiastic staff, including a significant number of Party members. Recognizing these factors as favorable conditions for establishing a Party branch within the company, the leaders of the Do Luong District Party Committee proposed the idea to the company's leadership and Vietnamese employees working at the factory. After a period of persuasion and negotiation, the company's leadership agreed to the idea and officially implemented it.

Like most businesses, the leadership of Kido Vinh Co., Ltd. was only concerned with business and production issues and did not understand the role and function of organizations and associations in general.Party organizationSpecifically, our first and biggest challenge was explaining to the company's leadership the role, function, and responsibilities of the Party organization.

Mr. Long said: “In the face of this difficulty, our advantage is that the company's trade union, youth union, women's association, etc., have already played their roles well. Furthermore, both I and the HR manager, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, can communicate directly with the Board of Directors in English without needing an interpreter. This ensures that information is conveyed accurately and promptly. We use this to persuade them during meetings with local leaders, board meetings, and company events. If we feel that direct persuasion isn't sufficient or concise, we will write an email.”

According to Long, persuading people to establish a Party organization within a company is not as difficult as many people think. The most important thing is to have dedication, perseverance, and sufficient qualifications and capabilities to answer and refute opposing viewpoints.

“In response to the company leader's questions about the benefits of establishing a Party branch, we convinced him that the strength of the Party and mass organizations is like the strength of a bundle of chopsticks. The Party organization is not just one chopstick in that bundle, but has the mission and role of gathering all the chopsticks together, creating greater collective strength. Our director was very satisfied with this explanation,” Long added.

With the enthusiastic support from the Do Luong District Party Committee and the suggestions from organizations such as the Labor Union and the Youth Union, after numerous proposals to the parent company in South Korea, the leadership of Kido Vinh Co., Ltd. finally agreed to establish a Party branch. This not only strengthens the close relationship between the enterprise and the locality but also ensures a harmonious balance of interests between the enterprise and its employees, guaranteeing business operations, production, security, and order.

“After receiving the director's approval, we compiled a list of party members and, together with the Do Luong District Party Committee, established a Party branch. For the first Party members, the most obvious benefit is the living environment. “Previously, before there was a Party branch at the company, I participated in meetings at my residence. This would be very disadvantageous for me if the meeting days and times coincided with my workday. With a Party branch at the company, not only is the information and policies of the Party and State more timely and accurate, but the meetings are also more lively, and my efforts and dedication at the company are more meaningful,” shared Mr. Doan Van Thuy, Chairman of the company's Trade Union.

Establishing Party branches within enterprises also has a positive impact on workers and businesses, contributing to ensuring security, order, and business and production. Sharing his views with the company's leadership, Mr. Hoang Van Hiep, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Do Luong District, affirmed that the Party organization not only ensures the rights of workers but also acts as an external force to mobilize other forces to protect and maintain the stability, smooth operation, and efficiency of the enterprise's business and production.
