The Syrian National Coalition, which has Turkish roots, announced that veteran member Anas al-Abda was elected chairman of the coalition on March 5, replacing Khaled Khoja.
The alliance announced that three other officials within the group have been appointed as vice presidents.
This faction, which was once the main opposition group backed by the West, is now part of the Saudi Arabia-backed Supreme Electoral Commission.
The Supreme Electoral Commission will represent the opposition in indirect peace talks with the Syrian government scheduled to take place next week in Geneva.
