Pilot dies after being struck by falling aircraft door.
Finnish authorities are investigating the cause of a bizarre accident in which a pilot was killed instantly when a plane door fell on him as he was boarding for a flight.

According toRTThe accident occurred on January 4th when a Gulfstream G150 aircraft was preparing to fly from a popular resort in Lapland, Finland, to Yekaterinburg, Russia. This aircraft typically serves private flights from Kittila Airport in northern Finland to Moscow, according to local reports.Lapin Kansa.
The G150 aircraft can accommodate a maximum of 20 passengers. At the time of the accident, there was absolutely no one on board except for the captain, the second pilot, and a flight attendant who was boarding the plane to prepare for the next flight.
At that moment, the aircraft door detached and fell directly onto the pilot. The impact was so strong that the 50-year-old pilot died instantly. Meanwhile, the remaining part of the door was flung 10 meters away from the crash site.RTThis is based on information provided by the investigators.
Finnish authorities consider this accident extremely rare and believe that a technical malfunction was the primary cause. They have contacted Austrian authorities, where the aircraft is registered, as well as the American company that manufactured it, to continue investigating the cause of the incident.
