How much will car registration fees increase from October 8?
Recently, Circular 55/2022 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular 238/2016 regulating the price of technical safety and environmental protection inspection services (registration) for motor vehicles, equipment and specialized motorbikes in circulation and assessment and calibration of motor vehicle inspection equipment has been issued by the Ministry of Finance.

Specifically, Circular 55 stipulates that the price of car inspection services will increase from October 8, 2022. Accordingly, the first inspection price for passenger cars with 10 seats or less and ambulances will be 250,000 VND/car, an increase of 10,000 VND/car compared to the current level of 240,000 VND/car.
The first-time registration fee for passenger cars with 10-24 seats (including the driver) will be VND290,000/car, also an increase of VND10,000/car compared to the current VND280,000/car.
For passenger cars with 40 seats or more (including the driver's seat) and buses, the inspection fee will be 360,000 VND/vehicle instead of the current 350,000 VND/vehicle.
The registration fee applicable to vehicles such as tractors, four-wheeled motorized cargo vehicles, four-wheeled motorized passenger vehicles and similar means of transport; trailers and semi-trailers will be VND190,000/vehicle instead of VND180,000/vehicle.
Trucks with a permitted cargo weight of over 20 tons, tractors with a permitted towing weight of over 20 tons, and specialized vehicles will have a registration fee of VND570,000/vehicle instead of VND560,000/vehicle.
In addition, the first technical safety and environmental protection inspection service fee for specialized equipment and motorbikes in circulation has also been increased by VND10,000 by the Ministry of Finance.
