How much will vehicle inspection fees increase starting from October 8th?
Recently, Circular 55/2022, amending and supplementing several articles of Circular 238/2016, which regulates the prices of technical safety and environmental protection inspection services (vehicle registration) for motor vehicles, equipment, and specialized vehicles in circulation, and the evaluation and calibration of motor vehicle inspection equipment, was issued by the Ministry of Finance.

Specifically, Circular 55 stipulates that the price of vehicle inspection services will increase from October 8, 2022. Accordingly, the initial inspection fee for passenger cars with 10 seats or fewer and ambulances will be 250,000 VND/vehicle, an increase of 10,000 VND/vehicle compared to the current rate of 240,000 VND/vehicle.
The initial vehicle inspection fee for passenger cars with 10-24 seats (including the driver) will be 290,000 VND per vehicle, an increase of 10,000 VND per vehicle compared to the current rate of 280,000 VND per vehicle.
For passenger vehicles with 40 seats or more (including the driver's seat), and buses, the vehicle inspection fee will be 360,000 VND/vehicle instead of the current 350,000 VND/vehicle.
The vehicle inspection fee for tractors, four-wheeled motor vehicles for transporting goods, four-wheeled motor vehicles for transporting passengers, and similar types of transport vehicles; trailers and semi-trailers will be 190,000 VND/vehicle instead of 180,000 VND/vehicle.
Trucks with a permissible carrying capacity of over 20 tons, tractor-trailers with a permissible towing capacity of over 20 tons, and other specialized vehicles will have a vehicle inspection fee of 570,000 VND/vehicle instead of 560,000 VND/vehicle.
In addition, the Ministry of Finance has increased the initial technical safety and environmental protection inspection fee for equipment and specialized vehicles currently in circulation by 10,000 VND.
