Phi Son was unable to help HL Ha Tinh win the friendly match against SLNA.
(Baonghean.vn) - Despite playing well in the first half, midfielder Tran Phi Son could not help his hometown team, HL Ha Tinh, defeat Song Lam Nghe An in a friendly match held on the afternoon of December 23rd at Vinh Stadium.
This was a friendly match to test the strength of the two teams, SLNA and HL Ha Tinh. On the home side, SLNA only had one foreign player, Peter Samuel, and was missing six players currently training with the national team: Van Hoang, Van Duc, Xuan Manh, and with the Vietnam U22 team: Sy Hoang, Ba Sang, and Van Viet.
In the first half, SLNA fielded a lineup including goalkeeper Le Van Hung, central defenders The Nhat and Van Khanh, and full-backs Sy Nam and Ngoc Duc. Notably, SLNA's central midfield featured the return of Dau Thanh Phong, partnering with Bui Dinh Chau. The wing-backs were Phan Dinh Thang, returning from Quang Nam, and Dinh Tien. The attacking line consisted of two strikers, Peter and Phuc Tinh.

On the HL Ha Tinh side, Phi Son started the match along with two new foreign players, center-back Kesley and striker Claudecir. The game was fairly balanced with many opportunities, but no goals were scored in the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, SLNA made substitutions: young center-back Thanh Lam came on for Van Khanh, Dinh Dong replaced Ngoc Duc on the left wing, young player Tran Ngoc Anh replaced Phuc Tinh, and Cao Xuan Thang replaced Dinh Tien. Shortly after, SLNA scored from a tricky cross by Xuan Thang on the right wing, and a Ha Tinh defender clumsily kicked the ball into his own net.

The Nghe An team played better, and with a bit of luck, midfielder Bui Dinh Chau could have scored SLNA's second goal with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, the ball hitting the crossbar and going out. The 1-0 scoreline of the friendly match remained unchanged until the end.
SLNA is expected to play friendly matches against Hai Phong or Thanh Hoa in preparation for the 2021 V.League season. The new season will kick off on January 16th at Vinh Stadium, where coach Ngo Quang Truong's team will face newcomer Binh Dinh before traveling to Pleiku to play against HAGL.
Midfielder Tran Phi Son will not return to SLNA, but will join HL Ha Tinh instead.
