Closing session of the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union

This morning (June 5th), the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union held its closing session; announcing and introducing the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the 2026-2031 term.

Prior to the closing session, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung chaired a discussion and exchange program with delegates attending the congress.

Attending the closing ceremony and participating in the exchange and discussion program were Central Committee members: Dao Hong Lan - Minister of Health; Tran Hong Minh - Minister of Construction; Hoang Minh Son - Minister of Education and Training; Nguyen Phi Long - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Committees, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The theme of the exchange and discussion program between Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and the delegates was: "Vietnam Trade Unions accompany the Government in improving labor productivity and achieving double-digit growth targets."

The discussions focused on the following issues: Enhancing national labor productivity from the perspective of workers; Inadequate vocational training and skills development, slow improvement in human resource quality leading to low labor productivity; Living wages and better benefits to encourage workers to dedicate themselves more effectively; Fostering a desire to contribute through emulation movements and initiatives; Developing long-term rental housing for workers - a foundation for a stable workforce; Proactive healthcare for workers - from Resolution 72 to practical action; Building a safe living and working environment for workers; Digital transformation, innovation, and sustainable employment for workers.

Concluding the exchange and discussion program, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung emphasized that the opinions expressed at the dialogue program reflected the dedication and close connection to the lives of workers by trade union officials, as well as the aspirations of union members and workers nationwide to contribute.

To achieve sustainable development goals in the new era, improving the productivity of workers is a key factor. Therefore, in the coming period, trade unions at all levels need to pay more attention to vocational training and upgrading the skills of workers. The government is committed to accompanying businesses in the digital transformation process and promoting emulation movements.

The Prime Minister also requested that ministries and agencies seriously consider the opinions expressed at the program. In particular, the focus should be on researching salary reforms for workers, improving regulations on bonus levels for innovative projects, and providing better healthcare for workers.

The Prime Minister specifically highlighted policies on building affordable long-term rental housing for workers with the joint efforts of the State and businesses; and issues related to healthcare for workers and food safety and hygiene in factories and industrial zones. He expressed his hope that trade unions would always be a common home for workers, a place where they could confide their legitimate concerns and aspirations.

This morning, the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union announced the results of the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 14th term, 2026-2031.

The Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 14th term, has elected 27 members to the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 14th term.

The conference elected Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Member of the 16th National Assembly, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee, and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, to be re-elected as President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the 14th term, 2026-2031.

The Executive Committee also elected four Vice Presidents of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the 14th term, including comrades Ngo Duy Hieu, Thai Thu Xuong, Nguyen Xuan Hung, and Le Van Nghia.

The conference elected the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 14th term, consisting of 15 members. Comrade Nguyen Xuan Hung, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 14th term, was elected to the position of Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 14th term.

During the morning session on June 5th, the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union announced the results of the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 14th term, and introduced the new Executive Committee consisting of 135 members.

Comrade Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor - was re-elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the 14th term, 2026-2031.
