First working session of the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union
On the morning of June 3rd, in Hanoi, in a solemn and emotional atmosphere, the delegation attending the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, term 2026-2031, laid wreaths and paid respects at the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh before beginning its first working session.
The delegation consisted of 780 official delegates representing millions of union members nationwide, led by Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee, and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Following the memorial ceremony, the Presidium of the 13th term of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, along with the heads of the delegations, solemnly offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Bac Son Memorial. This meaningful activity marked the beginning of a meaningful event, demonstrating the profound gratitude of the working class and the Trade Union organization for the immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the revolutionary predecessors.
14th CongressVietnam Trade UnionTaking place from June 3rd to 5th at the National Convention Center, the Congress will be guided by the motto "Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development". The Congress will focus on evaluating the results of implementing the Resolution of the previous term, while also determining goals for the 2026-2031 period with two key breakthroughs: improving the quality of trade union officials and promoting the application of science and technology and digital transformation in trade union activities.
Also this morning, the Congress officially entered its first working session. During this session, delegates elected the Presidium, the Secretariat, and the Credentials Committee; approved the work program and heard a summary of the report of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 13th term, presented to the Congress; outlined the discussion topics; reviewed the report of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 13th term; presented a report on amendments and additions to the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; and provided guidance for discussions at the five centers.
Attending this momentous event, the delegationNghe An Provincial Trade UnionComprising 14 official delegates, led by Comrade Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the Nghe An delegation, carrying the thoughts and aspirations of over 147,000 union members and workers, is determined to demonstrate the highest sense of responsibility and actively participate in the discussions to contribute to the overall success of the Congress. At the same time, the delegation aims to disseminate effective social welfare models and best practices from the locality to colleagues nationwide.
