At the 15th Boston International Film Festival, Luong Dinh Dung's film received the "Indie Spirit Best Storyline Award".

Patrick Jerome, CEO of the Boston International Film Festival, shared: "This is a film we love and one of the best films at this year's festival. I was impressed by 'Father Carrying Son' through the scenes in the rain. Especially when seeing the flood submerging the house, the father putting stones into the boat to keep it underwater... we truly believed we were there and that every scene was real. I felt like I was watching a true story, not fiction."

Luong Dinh Dung said that after the screenings, the audience stayed to ask more questions about the film, such as: whether the boy character Ca would survive, or what would happen to the father and son after they returned home.

"I had a meeting with a producer in the US. We discussed collaborating on the 5-7-8 movie I'm working on next year," the director said.

Additionally, the website of the 17th Milan International Film Festival in Italy has just announced that "Father Carrying Son" has won the "Best Cinematography" award. The festival takes place from May 10th to June 10th. The "Best Film" award will be announced at the end of this month.

The project was conceived by him over 10 years. The film had a budget of nearly 18 billion VND and was filmed over approximately 62 days.
