Hong Anh's film won 3 awards at the ASEAN Film Festival 2017.

At the ASEAN International Film Festival 2017 awards ceremony, held on the evening of May 6th in Malaysia, the film "Island of the Residents," directed by Hong Anh, was honored in several important categories. The film beat four other nominees to win the "Best Film" award.

Singer Pham Hong Phuoc was moved to tears when his name was announced as the winner of the "Best Leading Actor" award.

"Island of the Residents" also won in the "Best Director of Photography (DOP)" category. Prior to this, the film was nominated for eight major awards at this year's ASEAN International Film Festival.

Director Hong Anh and actors Ngoc Thanh Tam and Pham Hong Phuoc are very happy because their efforts for the film have been justly rewarded.

Earlier, on the red carpet of the film festival, the cast and crew of 'The Island of the Residents' appeared radiant before the Malaysian media.

Ngoc Thanh Tam wore a dress custom-made for her by designer Cong Tri. She was nominated in the "Best Actress" category but unfortunately did not win the award.

The actress had the opportunity to meet Filipino actor Marlo Mortel.

Donnie Yen, the star of the "Ip Man" films, also attended the ASEAN Film Festival 2017 last night. He held his wife's hand tightly on the red carpet.

He happily sat in the guest table watching the awards ceremony.
