Peaches, pho, and a piano.This is a feature film directed by Phi Tien Son, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Film Department, and produced by Film Production Company I. The film was invested with a budget of up to 20 billion VND.
The film is inspired by the 60-day and 60-night battle fought by the people and soldiers of Hanoi in late 1946 and early 1947, telling the love story of a self-defense fighter (played by Doan Quoc Dam) and a young lady from Hanoi (Cao Thuy Linh). Meritorious Artist Tran Luc, Meritorious Artist Trung Hieu, Doan Quoc Dam, singer Tuan Hung, and others also appear in the film.
The film premiered on February 10th (the first day of the Lunar New Year), with a single screening at the National Film Center. Subsequently, it created a ticket frenzy at the beginning of the year, grossing 21 billion VND, with ticket prices at 50,000 VND, lower than privately produced films. The film recouped its investment, making it one of the rare state-produced films to reach this milestone.
