Nguyen Nhu Khoi, Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council, attended the second session of the Con Cuong Commune People's Council, term 2021-2026.
On the morning of August 7th, the People's Council of Con Cuong commune, term I, 2021-2026, opened its second session. Comrade Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, attended the session.
The meeting was chaired by comrades: Nguyen Hoai An – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of the commune; and Luong Thi Thu Hien – Vice Chairman of the People's Council of the commune.
This was the first regular meeting since Con Cuong commune was officially established through the merger of three former administrative units: Chi Khe and Yen Khe communes and Con Cuong town of the former Con Cuong district. At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and evaluating the implementation of socio-economic development and national defense and security tasks during the first six months of the year, and proposed solutions and tasks for the remaining six months of 2025.
The commune People's Council also considered and approved important resolutions on the budget revenue and expenditure estimates, public investment plan, the regulations on the operation of the People's Council, and the monitoring program for 2026.
Speaking at the session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nhu Khoi acknowledged and highly appreciated the decisive involvement of the entire political system of Con Cuong commune in overcoming the severe consequences caused by the remnants of typhoon No. 3. He affirmed that, despite being newly operational, the two levels of government have shown positive signs, with a more streamlined apparatus and more timely handling of people's affairs.
Comrade Nguyen Nhu Khoi emphasized that, in the new structure, the commune People's Council plays the role of being closest to the people, understanding them best, and therefore needs to maximize its role in deciding on important local issues. This will improve the quality of verification, supervision, and thorough resolution of voters' requests.
Looking ahead, Con Cuong commune needs to focus on thoroughly addressing key tasks in the coming period, such as overcoming damage after the floods, completing socio-economic targets for 2025, and making thorough preparations for the commune's Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nhu Khoi visited and shared the difficulties with the government and people of Chau Khe commune, and donated medical equipment to the Chau Khe and Con Cuong commune health stations to serve the medical examination and treatment work for the people.
