Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nhu Khoi presents gifts to support flood victims in Nhon Mai and Huu Khuong communes.
On August 5th, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Khoi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, along with representatives from the Department of Health and Aikya Pharmaceutical Company, visited and provided support to the people of Nhon Mai and Huu Khuong communes. These are the areas most severely affected by the recent historic floods.

At the places visited, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nhu Khoi and the delegation cordially inquired about the health and lives of the people, and shared their deepest condolences for the losses they had suffered.
On behalf of the provincial leadership, he presented practical support gifts, including: essential medicines worth 100 million VND; medical equipment worth 30 million VND for the health stations of two communes, including 4 oxygen concentrators, a portable mini ultrasound machine, a blood glucose testing machine, and other medical instruments.

At the same time, 26 gift packages (each worth 1 million VND) were presented to families severely affected in the two communes of Nhon Mai and Huu Khuong. The donated items and money were contributed by Aikya Pharmaceutical Company, the Liaison Committee of the Dai Dong Commune Hometown Association in the Southern region, and Nguyen Dung Construction Joint Stock Company.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nhu Khoi commended the local authorities' efforts in minimizing casualties and promptly addressing the consequences of the storm and flood, stabilizing people's lives. He requested that local authorities continue to review and provide timely support to ensure that no one suffers from hunger or illness after the flood. He also emphasized the need for health stations to ensure timely and accurate distribution of medicine to the appropriate recipients.
According to a report from the People's Committee of Nhon Mai commune, the flood caused extremely serious damage.
In the entire commune, one person died: Mrs. Vu Y Xia, 78 years old, from Huoi Co village; 73 houses were completely swept away or buried, 23 houses were severely damaged, 142 households had to be urgently relocated, and 116 houses were located in areas at high risk of landslides. Transportation infrastructure was severely damaged, including the sweeping away of a steel truss bridge in Nhon Mai village, completely isolating 64 households with 225 people.
Many roads, including National Highway 16, were blocked by landslides, hindering relief efforts and access to villages. Public facilities such as schools, health centers, and the electricity and telecommunications systems also suffered heavy damage. The total property damage in the commune is estimated at nearly 788 billion VND.
