In the National High School Exam, the percentage of students recognized as graduating was 95.24%, the whole province had 35 students with a score of 10, one student was the valedictorian nationwide. In terms of average score, Nghe An ranked 36/63, up 6 places compared to the previous school year.

Regarding the quality of the key points, the whole province has 90/102 students participating in the national excellent student competition, ranking 2nd nationwide; 4 students participated in international and regional excellent student competitions and won 2 Silver medals and 2 Bronze medals.

At the summary conference, there were 14 opinions from localities and schools focusing on issues of facilities, improving the quality of teachers, building key schools, teacher shortages, and teaching 2 sessions/day.

In this school year, it is necessary to promptly and effectively implement the pilot model of building high-quality key secondary schools; effectively carry out communication work on education, replicate and discover advanced models and examples. Continue to innovate testing and evaluation activities; organize exams to ensure scientific and practical results for the progress of learners; build an autonomous mechanism in student assessment towards responsibility and building core values of each school.

In the 2018-2019 school year, Nghe An Education and Training Department was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training for units that have completed their tasks excellently. There were 34 units classified as having completed their tasks excellently, 80 units having completed their tasks well; there were 17 groups and 109 individuals proposed to receive Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training. In particular, 4 groups and 62 individuals were proposed to receive Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
