Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De inspects the progress of the 2026 Spring rice harvest in various localities.
On the afternoon of May 14th, Mr. Nguyen Van De, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected the progress of the 2026 Spring rice harvest in Kim Lien and Dai Hue communes and Vinh Loc ward.

In Kim Lien commune, according to reports from local leaders, in the Spring crop of 2026, the entire commune planted over 2,400 hectares of rice, of which pure rice varieties accounted for 96%; the average yield is expected to reach 65 quintals/hectare. To date, the locality has harvested approximately 50% of its crop.

In Dai Hue commune, the total cultivated area reached nearly 1,400 hectares; the expected average yield is 68-70 quintals/hectare. Currently, the local authorities are focusing on encouraging farmers to speed up the harvesting process, which is expected to be completed this week.

In Vinh Loc ward, the total cultivated area is over 630 hectares; the expected yield is 70-75 quintals/hectare. To date, approximately 50% of the area has been harvested.

According to a report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the harvested area across the province currently stands at over 60%.
In the spring of 2026, the entire province planted over 50,000 hectares, and preliminary assessments indicate an average yield of approximately 66-68 quintals/hectare.

Based on on-site inspections in localities and quick reports from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Mr. Nguyen Van De, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the close guidance of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, along with the localities, in ensuring a successful spring crop, despite facing many difficulties such as adverse weather conditions, water shortages, labor shortages, and fluctuating prices of input materials.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De emphasized: According to forecasts from the Meteorological and Hydrological Center, scattered showers and thunderstorms will occur in the province in the coming days; accompanied by thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Therefore, he requested that communes and wards focus on directing and encouraging farmers to mobilize maximum manpower, resources, and machinery, taking advantage of favorable weather conditions to accelerate the harvesting of the spring rice crop.

In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, along with local authorities, continues to closely monitor weather developments and proactively develop plans to prevent and mitigate damage from thunderstorms and minimize production losses.
In conjunction with the harvest, efforts will be made to disseminate information and guide farmers in organizing and implementing the 2026 Summer-Autumn crop production according to the correct seasonal schedule and crop structure, contributing to maintaining stable agricultural production and achieving the growth targets for 2026.
