Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De inspects the situation of rice production and harvesting in the spring crop.
On the afternoon of May 6th, Comrade Nguyen Van De, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected and directed agricultural production and the harvesting of the spring rice crop in Do Luong and Dai Dong communes.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De and his delegation directly inspected the rice fields in Do Luong commune. For the Spring crop of 2026, Do Luong commune planted over 1,400 hectares of spring rice. Currently, farmers have harvested about 20% of the area, with an estimated yield of 67-68 quintals/hectare.

Dai Dong commune planted over 2,260 hectares of spring rice, and farmers are currently harvesting about 100 hectares. The estimated rice yield is 66-68 quintals/hectare. It is expected that the main harvest will take place from May 10th to 20th, and farmers will begin transplanting seedlings for the summer-autumn rice crop from May 20th, with main sowing from May 30th to June 10th.

After inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De assessed that this year's spring crop was a bumper harvest, yielding quite high productivity. Although the recent storm with hail caused significant damage to agricultural production in the province, flattening thousands of hectares of spring rice that were in the ripening stage, local authorities quickly directed people to overcome the consequences of the storm.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De requested localities to urgently implement measures to remedy and minimize damage to rice fields affected by thunderstorms and strong winds.

Local authorities are urgently mobilizing all available machinery and manpower to quickly harvest rice crops, with particular priority given to areas severely affected.
Taking advantage of the sunny weather, arrange harvesting machines in the fields, harvesting according to the principle of "harvesting as soon as the rice ripens," prioritizing low-lying areas and areas where the rice has fallen over to minimize yield loss; organize land preparation as soon as harvesting is completed, getting ready for the next production season, ensuring adherence to the planting schedule.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to direct specialized units to strengthen inspection and supervision of the progress of the spring rice harvest, and at the same time organize the summer-autumn crop production according to the seasonal schedule.

On the same day, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De and the delegation visited a high-quality green pumpkin cultivation model in Dai Dong commune.
