The detailed score distribution for the 2025 high school graduation exam in Mathematics was announced by the Ministry of Education and Training on the afternoon of July 15th. The Mathematics exam surprised many with 513 perfect scores (10 out of 10).

Mathematics is one of the two compulsory subjects in the high school graduation exam, attracting a large number of candidates with over 1.15 million participants. Experts assess that the score distribution is normal, accurately reflecting the abilities of students nationwide.

Across the country, 513 candidates achieved a perfect score of 10, with Hanoi leading the way with 93 candidates. Notably, Ninh Binh (including the former Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, and Ninh Binh provinces) had the highest average score in Mathematics nationwide with 5.406 points.

The high school graduation exam took place on June 26-27 with over 1.07 million candidates participating. Mathematics is one of the two compulsory subjects for graduation recognition and is also a subject included in many university admission combinations such as A00 (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Mathematics, Physics, English), and D01 (Mathematics, Literature, English).

The exam consists of three parts with 22 questions: 12 multiple-choice questions, 4 true/false questions, and 6 short-answer questions. The time allotted for the exam is 90 minutes.

Following the Math exam on the afternoon of June 26th, many teachers assessed that the exam closely followed the sample questions published by the Ministry of Education and Training, aligning with the competency-based assessment objectives of the 2018 general education program. However, the exam was considered lengthy and significantly more difficult than in previous years.

According to Mr. Lam Vu Cong Chinh, a math teacher at Nguyen Du High School in Ho Chi Minh City, the exam gradually differentiated students from the true/false section to the short answer section. The short answer section, in particular, included two very difficult questions on probability and statistics, causing many students to struggle.
