As soon as he returned to his hometown Nghe An to work and teach, Dr. Cao Truong Sinh determined to make efforts to build a scientific research movement at Nghe An Medical College (now Vinh Medical University) to improve the quality of education and training of the school.

He and his colleagues have gradually built and completed the course curriculum, published research topics to serve the theoretical and clinical teaching of students. One of the outstanding topics is to build 80 sets of textbooks and 80 sets of objective multiple choice questions for university teaching subjects and deploy objective multiple choice assessment on computers to help departments and lecturers have enough textbooks for teaching and assessment, reducing thousands of hours of invigilation, grading, and exam papers. This topic has been effectively deployed in teaching, helping the state save about 500 - 600 million VND/year.

In addition, he is also the head of a grassroots project on investigating the employment rate of students after graduation as a basis for assessing training quality and developing annual training plans. Through topics on education, medical education has guided colleagues to implement many topics in this research direction, creating a research movement and research products contributing to improving the quality and development of the school.

Over the years, he has presided over the implementation of 6 projects with many provincial-level initiatives and many grassroots projects with scientific value and practical significance: Research and proposal of some solutions to prevent and treat autism in children under 6 years old in Nghe An; Some solutions for early detection and treatment of autism disorders in children in Nghe An. The results of the project are currently being applied at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, in 7 districts and cities in the province and replicated nationwide...

The research results of the topic are also an important basis for kindergartens and primary schools to detect autistic children early in order to have educational methods and coordinate with parents and the health sector to educate, restore personality and reintegrate children into the community. This autism treatment method and model is currently being effectively applied at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

This special topic also contributed to training more than 400 preschool teachers, building models and applying educational methods to change the behavior of autistic children; providing general training for medical staff of district hospitals, 185 medical students, 150 preschool students, especially treating 229 autistic children. These two topics won first prize in the Nghe An Science and Technology Innovation Contest in 2017.

Associate Professor, Dr. Cao Truong Sinh attended the 16th National Cardiology Conference (November 2019).

Along with that, he carried out many topics such as: Current situation and some solutions to prevent and treat osteoporosis in people over 40 years old in Vinh city, Nghe An province. The results of the topic were screening and measuring bone density for 2,065 people and determined the rate of osteoporosis in people over 40 years old in Vinh city was 39.6%, proposed and applied measures to prevent osteoporosis and treat 60 people with severe osteoporosis, reducing the rate of fractures due to osteoporosis in people over 40 years old, especially in women.

The topic is currently being applied at Vinh Medical University Hospital. In addition, there are some highly applicable scientific topics such as: Current status of hypertension in Vinh city, Nghe An province; Research on treatment of knee osteoarthritis with platelet-rich plasma combined with autologous adipose tissue mesenchymal stem cell transplantation in Nghe An... These topics have been approved by the Ministry of Health and are being effectively implemented at Vinh Medical University Hospital with 30 osteoarthritis patients.

This initiative has been applied since 2009 and is currently being effective in the Neurology Department of Nghe An General Hospital, Vinh Medical University, Neurology Department, Cardiology Department of many hospitals nationwide. This initiative won the second prize for Provincial Science and Technology Innovation in 2015 and was awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Vinh Medical University Hospital implements autologous mesenchymal stem cell transplantation technique to treat knee osteoarthritis.

The scientific activities of Dr. Cao Truong Sinh in the fields of education and training, medicine, and medical examination and treatment have contributed to promoting the scientific research movement at Vinh Medical University and Hospital, contributing to the overall development of the health sector in general, and to the training of medical staff in Nghe An province in particular.
