Deputy Prime Minister offers flowers and incense to pay tribute to Soviet martyrs at Nghe Tinh Soviet Relic Site
On the evening of September 12, on the occasion of the 995th anniversary of the name Nghe An (1030-2025), the 95th anniversary of the Nghe Tinh Soviet (September 12, 1930 - September 12, 2025), comrade Mai Van Chinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister and the working delegation came to offer flowers and incense to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Soviet movement at the Nghe Tinh Soviet Relic Site, Hung Nguyen commune.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Quang Duc - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Hoang Dao Cuong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and comrades in the delegation.
The leaders of Nghe An province included comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of departments, branches and localities.
The leaders of Ha Tinh province include comrade Nguyen Duy Lam - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.
The Nghe Tinh Soviet 1930 - 1931 was a brilliant milestone in the history of the Vietnamese revolution in the 20th century under the leadership of the Party; becoming a symbol of heroism, steadfastness, and indomitability of the children of Nghe An homeland.
In Nghe An, under the leadership of the Central Region Party Committee, directly by the Vinh - Ben Thuy Provincial Party Committee and Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, in harmony with the struggle movement of the people of the whole country, workers and farmers in the province rose up strongly in both urban and rural areas.
On the morning of September 12, 1930, about 8,000 farmers from three communes: Phu Long, Thong Lang (Hung Nguyen) and Nam Kim (Nam Dan) under the leadership of the Provincial Committee, in neat ranks, equipped with sticks, spears, ropes, raising red flags of hammer and sickle marched to Yen Xuan station to denounce the crimes of French colonialism and feudalism of the Southern Dynasty, calling on the masses to follow the Communist Party. The slogans resounded throughout the area.
When the provincial delegation was advancing to Hung Nguyen district capital, just reaching Thai Lao, the French colonialists dropped bombs, killing 217 people and injuring 125 others. This brutal terrorist attack shocked public opinion domestically and internationally.
The demonstration on September 12, 1930, though bloodily suppressed, demonstrated the great power of the people's uprising and went down in history as an immortal epic. September 12 is chosen every year as the anniversary of the Nghe Tinh Soviet.
The Nghe Tinh Soviet was a milestone marking the first time that our Party, a revolutionary party, though still very young, demonstrated its role, mettle, prestige, fighting strength and great ability in leading, uniting and mobilizing the masses.
The Nghe Tinh Soviet flame has become a sacred flame, illuminating and encouraging our Party and People to overcome all difficulties and challenges, fight for national independence, unify the country, and firmly move towards socialism.
At the Memorial House of the Soviet martyrs of Nghe Tinh (1930-1931) built in the premises of the Soviet Museum of Nghe Tinh (Thanh Vinh ward) and the Soviet Relic Site of Nghe Tinh (Hung Nguyen commune), Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh and the delegation of the Central Committee, Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province respectfully offered flowers, incense, and observed a moment of silence to remember and deeply express gratitude for the great contributions of the martyrs in the revolutionary movement of 1930-1931.
In the sacred moment, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh and the delegation of the Central Committee, Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province vowed to continue to promote the spirit of Nghe Tinh Soviet, successfully carry out the renovation of the political system, successfully hold the National Party Congress...; build the beloved homeland of Uncle Ho to soon become a prosperous province as he always wished; worthy of the noble sacrifice of our predecessors, the heroic martyrs of Nghe Tinh Soviet, worthy of the title of Red Nghe Tinh.
