The Russian Deputy Prime Minister has proposed issuing electronic visas to Vietnamese citizens entering Russia.

Ms. Golikova proposed maintaining the current list of 52 countries eligible for e-visas, while adding three more: Vietnam, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

"The electronic visa will be launched on August 1, 2023. All acceptance checks have been completed, and we are ready for this work," Golikova said at a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and members of the Russian government via video conference.

Russia has finalized a cooperation plan with Vietnam extending to 2030.

Earlier, during a meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Defense Hoang Xuan Chien, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko announced that Russian agencies had completed a comprehensive bilateral cooperation plan with Vietnam until 2030, and Moscow hoped that Vietnam would soon review this document.

"In implementing the agreements with my Vietnamese counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Russian agencies have prepared a comprehensive plan to develop bilateral cooperation until 2030. This is a substantial and detailed document including a series of roadmaps for sectoral cooperation with specific goals, which will be submitted to the Vietnamese side in the near future. We hope the document will be considered positively and promptly," he said.
