Deputy Prime Minister requests to continue monitoring the impact of electricity price increase
Ministries and branches need to provide timely information, stabilize the psychology of people and businesses and not let bad elements take advantage to cause social disorder.
The Government Office has just issued a document conveying the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue - Head of the Steering Committee for Price Management,Request the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate with the General Statistics Office and relevant agencies to continue monitoring and assessing the impact of electricity price increases on production and people's lives.
Ministries are required to proactively provide information to the press to stabilize the psychology of people and businesses, and not let bad elements take advantage to cause disorder and insecurity in society.

The Ministry of Information and Communications is directed to proactively coordinate with ministries and branches to continue propaganda work, proactively provide information on price management of sensitive goods to people and transparently provide price information to control expected inflation.
The Ministry was also directed to strengthen inspection and supervision to prevent and limit false information that causes panic among consumers and destabilizes the market.
Since March 20, the average retail electricity price has increased by 8.36%. Nearly a month later, many people reported that they were surprised by the sudden increase in April electricity bills compared to March. Explaining this phenomenon, the Electricity industry gave three reasons: hot weather, increased electricity consumption by households, and partly due to the increase in retail electricity prices.
On May 2, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that it had established three inspection teams to inspect power units in three regions (North, Central, South) from May 8-10. Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade said that this agency will soon propose to amend the ladder electricity price list to suit actual usage needs.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc last weekend directed and requested the Government Inspectorate to preside over, along with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, an inspection of the recent electricity price increase, pricing methods and electricity bill collection. This inspection aims to clarify the rights and wrongs in adjusting electricity prices.
