Outgoing US Vice President Joe Biden takes train home

Outgoing US Vice President Joe Biden traveled by train from Washington to Delaware after President Donald Trump's inauguration.

Mr. Biden and his wife Jill Biden took the train home for the first time yesterday.Wilmington with a ticket in his name, according to CNN.

The former vice president revealed that he made 8,200 round trips back to his home country during his term in office, butNames are not allowed on tickets for security reasons.

"Over two million miles, or more than 3.2 million kilometers, on Amtrak. Each trip is 259 miles, or nearly 417 kilometers per day, I've traveled about 217 days a year. This is my family and that's why I choose my way home," Biden said.

Asked about the meaning of taking the train, Mr. Biden said that what he used to do, literally, was take the night train home, look out the window, see the light and think: "What's on the kitchen table, what are people thinking, what are they really worried about?".

Talking to a CNN reporter traveling on the train,The former vice president said his last words to former President Barack Obama as he left the White House were to see him again in a few weeks.

“I will do it,” he said.

Talking about arranging time to meet Mr. Obama, Mr. Biden said they will meet very often, will do many things together and consider themselves close friends.
