Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province, abbot of Huu Nghi Pagoda in Laos
The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) of Nghe An province has just had a meaningful visit and work in Xieng Khouang province, Lao PDR. Here, the VBS of Nghe An province announced and presented the decision to appoint Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac as Abbot of Huu Nghi Pagoda.

Leading the delegation was Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac - Member of the Executive Council, Head of the Central Cultural Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province.


The trip was not only an annual Buddhist exchange activity but also had a special mark with the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the first Vietnamese pagoda in Xieng Khouang. The pagoda was named Huu Nghi Pagoda, affirming the strong spread of Vietnamese Buddhism in Laos. At the same time, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province also announced and presented the decision to appoint Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac as Abbot of Huu Nghi Pagoda.
