Heartbreaking cases

Recently, at around 2:30 a.m. on August 12, at the head of Chau Hoi suspension bridge, in Chau Hoi commune (Quy Chau) adjacent to National Highway 48, a serious crime occurred due to a conflict between two groups of young people from Chau Hoi commune and Chau Nga commune. The fight resulted in two victims dying on the spot, HVH (born in 2004), LVS (born in 2005), and two injured people, Hoang Van T. (born in 2000) and Vi Van C. (born in 2001), both residing in Chau Nga commune.

Upon receiving the report, Quy Chau District Police immediately arrived, protected the scene, and organized forces to investigate and arrest the perpetrators. At 5:30 a.m. the same day, the unit coordinated with provincial police forces to investigate and clarify 8 subjects, all residing in Chau Hoi Commune, who participated in beating the group of young people in Chau Nga Commune. Among them, Lu Van Khanh (born in 2003), residing in Xon Village, Chau Hoi Commune, was the one who used a knife to stab 2 people to death and 2 others injured as above.

Previously, at around 6am on August 9, Mac Van Duc (born in 1990, residing in Yen Hop commune, Quy Hop district) had just returned from working far away and used a knife to slash his parents, injuring them and killing a neighbor on the spot. Upon receiving information about the incident, Quy Hop district police and related forces promptly arrived. After only nearly 2 hours, the perpetrator was arrested while hiding in the acacia hill area, not far from the scene.

Or in another case, at 4am on July 12, in Nghia Thai commune (Tan Ky), Luong Van Thao (born in 1983, residing in Van Giang hamlet) ran to LVV's house (Thao's uncle residing in the same hamlet) and knocked on the door. As soon as V opened the door, Thao rushed into the house and used a knife to slash V, seriously injuring him. After that, Thao ran to VCK's house and saw HTH sleeping with her daughter on the bed in the house across the street, then he slashed her indiscriminately, causing her to collapse on the spot.

After that, Thao continued to run to another room and slashed Mr. K, injuring him, then rushed into Mr. VVT's house (a police officer in the village) and slashed Mr. T's wife. Hearing the cries for help, Mr. T and the people were able to control Thao. The people quickly took the victims to the Tan Ky District Medical Center for emergency treatment. However, Ms. H. died.

The above serious crimes not only affect security and order in the area but also cause public confusion and anxiety.

Synchronously deploy multiple solutions

Most of themurder caseAll cases that occurred in the area were promptly investigated and clarified by local police forces in coordination with the provincial police departments, promptly arrested the perpetrators and strictly handled according to the provisions of the law.

Except for some cases where the perpetrator had mental problems, in terms of cause, most of the cases that occurred in the past time stemmed from very simple conflicts and collisions in life, sometimes just because of words, uncontrolled behavior... There were murder cases where the victim and the perpetrator were relatives in the family, shocking public opinion.

For example, in the murder case that left two people dead in Bai Son commune (Do Luong), according to the initial investigation, at around 6:00 p.m. on July 4, 2022, Ms. LTTN brought her lover, HQA, home to have dinner with her family. During the meal, Ms. N. and Mr. A. had a conflict with Le Dinh Ngoc (Ms. N.'s father). Angry at being insulted, Le Dinh Ngoc used a knife to stab LTTN's daughter and Mr. HQA, seriously injuring them and later dying at the hospital. After committing the crime, Le Dinh Ngoc took two packets of pesticide to the pond bank and drank them all. Le Dinh Ngoc's wife called the neighbors to take him to Do Luong District General Hospital for emergency treatment.

According to the authorities, because many murder cases often originate from small, spontaneous, and temporary conflicts, prevention work is difficult. From the time the conflict arises to the crime is committed, it is only a few hours, or even a few minutes, but it leads to very painful consequences. The dead, the imprisoned, and their relatives suffer many losses and disadvantages.

Therefore, to limit unfortunate incidents, in addition to the involvement of functional forces in regularly grasping the area, organizing patrols and controls to promptly resolve issues affecting security and order, it is necessary to strengthen inspection, review, and mobilize the recovery of weapons, explosives, support tools and other types of weapons. At the same time, quickly investigate, solve cases, and arrest murderers to strictly handle them according to regulations, ensuring the strictness of the law.

Localities, departments, branches and organizations need to focus on differentiating areas and subjects to promote appropriate forms of propaganda, dissemination and legal education, especially for young people. In particular, strengthen the activities of self-management groups on security and order, and mediation groups in villages and hamlets to propagate, educate and promptly detect and resolve conflicts arising among the people. Closely coordinate with departments, branches and organizations in managing mentally ill people at home and in society...

However, to avoid heartbreaking incidents from small conflicts, leading to the end of people dying, people going to jail, leaving many consequences for society, affecting local security and order. In daily life, each individual, especially young people, needs to improve their knowledge and skills in conflict resolution, handling situations, communicating and behaving with the motto "one forbearance, nine kindnesses" and upholding the spirit of respect for the law.
