Movement of planting cassia and bauhinia flowers in Quy Chau
(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, more than 2 billion VND has been contributed to plant thousands of trees, mainly Bauhinia and Cassia in the "Great Unity" garden model of the mountainous district of Quy Chau.
Garden of "Great Unity"
For about 2 years now, traveling along National Highway 48 through Quy Chau district, Chau Hoi commune, we often see a large area planted with many types of trees in very neat rows. Among them, the most prominent are hundreds of tall, green and lush white Bauhinia trees and cajuput trees.
The Youth Union of Chau Hoi Commune, together with the staff of the Agricultural Service Center of Quy Chau District, are pruning and weeding the “people’s garden”. In a large area along the western slope of Highway 48, in Ke Le village, Chau Hoi Commune, hundreds of white Bauhinia trees have begun to bloom.

Ms. Luong Thi Nga - Secretary of Chau Hanh Commune Youth Union said that among hundreds of Bauhinia trees here, the Youth Union members and youth of Chau Hanh Commune contributed to planting 70 trees. In addition, the commune's youth force also participated in dozens of working days of planting and taking care of the trees regularly from the first day of the tree planting campaign until now. Planting started in early 2021, from when the trees were only as tall as two human hands, the trees have now grown taller than a person's head, and some trees have begun to flower.
Together with the Youth Union of Chau Hanh commune, to have a large area with thousands of trees as it is today, one of the agencies and units participating in contributing money to buy trees and taking care of them is the Education sector of Quy Chau district.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Chau - Head of the Education Department of Quy Chau district said that teachers from schools have contributed 120 million VND to buy, plant and care for 350 white Bauhinia trees at Ke Le Ecological Area.

Mr. Luong Tri Dung - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the District People's Committee said that in 2020, Quy Chau district implemented a plan to plant native trees associated with the eco-tourism area in Chau Hoi commune, Quy Chau district. The District People's Committee coordinated with the District Fatherland Front Committee to organize a tree planting launching ceremony at the model, mobilizing organizations, individuals and businesses located in the district to support this movement.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with relevant departments, sectors, and units to implement the project, and has so far received the consensus and positive response from all levels, sectors, and people and businesses in the district. Taking the lead after launching the solidarity tree planting movement, the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels of Quy Chau district have donated money to buy and plant 97 odd cassia trees, 100 lat trees, and 94 tamarind trees.
Since the launch of the solidarity tree planting movement in 2020, by the end of 2021, the total area of trees planted at Ke Le Ecological Park reached 8.2 hectares, supported directly in kind by departments, branches, units, individuals and businesses in the district.
Among them, there are many precious tree species such as 1 hectare of green lim with 500 trees; 1.2 hectare of flower lac with 500 trees. Many other types of trees are also planted on an area of 1-2 hectares such as Hoang Linh, Giang Huong, Sang Le, Loc Mung, Bang Lang Dao, Cho Chi, Sau, Hong Tha...

In 2022 alone, 11 hectares have been planted, including nearly 1,000 yellow trumpet vine and wallflowers. Many types of trees planted have a diameter of 17cm - 35cm (464 trees/1.7 hectares) such as cassia and some other types of trees.
In addition to planting ornamental trees, flowering and shade trees, Ke Le Community Ecological Park also combines pilot planting of 3.5 hectares of aromatic roots and 5 hectares of cinnamon, which is also undertaken by the District Agricultural Service Center.
The State and people together protect and plant forests.
Mr. Lo Van The - Head of the Economic Infrastructure Department of Quy Chau District People's Committee said that in August 2022, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision 2492/QD-UBND agreeing to survey and plan Ke Le Ecological Park in Chau Hoi Commune. Currently, the district is preparing a plan for site clearance to submit to the Provincial People's Committee. The project is invested by the District People's Committee with the direction of planning an ecological area to serve the community and people and create a highlight in terms of infrastructure associated with the cultural and tourism development of Quy Chau. Ke Le Ecological Park has an area of 300 hectares running along National Highway 48, bordering Chau Hoi Commune, Tan Lac Town and Hieu River.
As of November 2022, the total contribution to buy and plant trees at Ke Le Ecological Park has reached more than 2 billion VND. Of which, the people's contribution and support is more than 1 billion VND; organizations, units, individuals, and businesses support 971 million VND. The remaining amount is contributed by sectors and localities, and the district budget supports more than 300 million VND.

The leaders of Quy Chau district also affirmed that the district planned to build Ke Le Ecological Park with the goal of serving the people, the items will aim to create a cultural space and preserve the natural values of Quy Chau; serve the development of community tourism, eco-tourism. And the government and people working together to build this project also aims to spread awareness of nature protection, forest protection and afforestation in the community in Quy Chau.
