On May 20, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung, Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Nghi Loc district, confirmed that he was requesting Nghi Hoa Primary School to report the incident in which a student was beaten by a teacher.

Accordingly, at around 10:00 a.m. on May 17, Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen (born in 1969, residing in Nghi Hoa commune, Nghi Loc district) went to school to pick up her child, VTT (born in 2010, currently studying in grade 1B, Nghi Hoa Primary School).

At this time, she discovered that her child had unusual symptoms so she asked him, and T. said that teacher Dang Thi Nga had beaten him on the back and legs.

Taking off her child’s clothes to check, she saw red marks like ruler marks on her body. “I counted 4-5 wounds on her back and legs. A few days later, the bruises caused her to have a fever and not be able to eat or drink anything,” said Ms. Duyen.

To clarify the matter, Ms. Duyen called teacher Nga. She said: “Ms. Nga admitted that she hit the child because she wanted him to study better. Ms. Nga said that the semester exam was coming up but my child could not do a simple math problem, so she got angry and hit the child a few meters on the body.”

However, Ms. Duyen said, if the teacher only hit the leg once, she would have no objection, but in this case, the teacher hit the child many times on the body.

Regarding this, Mr. Trung said: "Currently, Nghi Hoa Primary School is holding a meeting with the Board of Directors and asking Ms. Nga to write a report. After we have the results, we will have a form of handling."
